Mark wondered what had brought him here that day. There he was sitting on a dock in Greece, reevaluating all of the decisions he had made in recent days. He found it very hard to stay hopeful when that very much could have been the woman he was going to spend the rest of his life with on that boat, sailing towards an island he didn’t know the name of with a ferry that wouldn’t allow him to chase after her until two days later.
He was about to get up and turn around, find the nearest airport that would get him out of the sunny Mediterranean country, when he felt someone tap on his shoulder.
He squinted against the sun, trying to get a better look at who it was, but it wasn’t clear until you stepped in front of him.
“You miss the ferry?” you asked him and he nodded his head. “Shame,” you sighed and took a seat next to him. You introduced yourself and offered a hand for him to shake. He took it and introduced himself in return.
“I don’t suppose your travels have also been…” he chose his words carefully, “subpar?”
“Actually, they have,” you leaned back. “This was supposed to be some sort of girls trip.”
“And?”
“Well, you don’t see any girls around me do you,” you motioned to the empty dock.
“No I don’t suppose I do.”
You sat in silence for a moment, the sun beating down on both of your backs before you chose to speak again.
“Have you done much sight-seeing yet?”
“None. I just got here, and I think I’ll be leaving first thing tomorrow,” he admitted.
“Leave Greece without seeing even one sight? You’re an interesting man, Mark.”
“I’m glad you think so,” he sighed and pushed himself up off of the bench.
“You know,” you started, “If you change your mind and want to see some of the sights before heading back to wherever you’re from, come find me. My hotel’s that one over there,” you pointed to one of the buildings overlooking the water.
Mark nodded his head and wished you a good day before grabbing his bag and heading towards the main street, he’d call for a taxi and maybe his choice would be more clear to him the next morning. It was hard to think in the midday heat, because right now, for some peculiar reason, your offer seemed awfully enticing.
The next morning you awoke to a knock on your door. You checked the time, it was half past seven which was far too early for housekeeping.
With a confused look on your face, and a just-in-case large vase in hand and ready for whatever was on the other side, you approached the door. In a quick motion you unlocked the door and swung it open, the vase held as threateningly as you could until you realized that you recognized those eyes and that tall frame.
“Mark?”
“You said if I wanted to get in some sightseeing before I go I should come to your hotel. You didn’t tell me what room though. I made a few awkward mistakes before landing on your door.”
“What compelled you to do this at half past seven on a weekend?” you chuckled.
“I could ask the same about your vase. Not normally something you greet someone with at the door,” he commented.
“Just playing it safe,” you said, now lowering the vase and returning it to its place on the table. “Why don’t you give me two minutes to get dressed then I’ll properly invite you inside.”
Mark nodded his head and you quickly shut the door, rummaging through your suitcases until you found what you wanted to wear, changing into it and reopening the door and allowing Mark to come inside.
“So, what changed your mind?” you asked. “You seemed awfully set on leaving.”
“I thought maybe it was time I took a break. I can’t remember the last time I took a vacation,” he admitted. “And it crossed my mind that perhaps you were right.”
“About what?”
“It would be a shame to leave Greece without seeing at least one sight.”
You grabbed your bag and shoved a few things in it, looking back up at Mark.
“Then let’s find a sight, shall we?” you offered your arm to him and he took it as you exited the room together.
After you sorted out where you wanted to go you found yourselves on a hot overcrowded bus, trying to understand what the stops were and continuously looking at the map and your surroundings to determine where to get off.
“So Mark, where do you hail from? I’m guessing England, but whereabouts?” you asked, over the loud engine.
“London, currently,” he said. “And yourself?”
“Currently? Also London,” you said.
“But-,”
“I don’t sound British?” you looked over at him and he chuckled.
“Exactly,” he nodded.
“I’m there for work. I’m an art curator,” you explained. “Brits bring pretty good business.”
“That I can believe, and I think this is our stop,” he pointed.
“Oh goodness, HEY! HEY! Stop the bus!” you called and stood up, waving down the driver with your hat. He slammed on the brakes and you jerked forward, almost falling into the seats in front of you if it weren’t for Mark quickly grabbing you by the waist and pulling you back down into your seat. “Man, let’s get the hell out of here.”
Mark couldn’t help but give you a little smile as he helped you up from your seat and you exited the crowded bus as quickly as you could.
“Good grief,” you sighed. “I would have gone flying if it weren’t for you. Thanks, Mark.”
“Don’t mention it, all part of the Greek charm I suppose,” he shrugged as you began to walk down the quiet countryside street, looking for the entrance to the beach.
“What about yourself, what do you do for work?” you asked.
“I’m a lawyer,” he said. “Human rights type stuff mostly.”
“Oh so a true London hotshot then,” you chuckled. “Come on, I think it’s right down here,” you motioned to a small trail opening.
“Well, I don’t know if I’d say hotshot,” he said.
“Oh don’t worry, I’m just teasing,” you said as you slipped on some loose gravel only to have Mark catch you again.
“You’re quite clumsy.”
“It’s a part of my charm,” you grinned.
From there you both silently decided maybe it would be best if you held on to Mark so as to not fall again, and you walked a short distance in comfortable silence until you came to the opening of the beach.
“Wow. Mark, this is really a sight,” you grabbed his arm and dragged him further so he could see the full view.
The cove was secluded and the pristine water gently lapped against the shore along the white sand.
“What do you think?” you asked.
“I’m glad I stayed,” he said with a smile.
Still hand in hand, you found a comfortable spot in the sand and laid out a blanket you had packed to sit on for the time being.
“Do you have anyone waiting back home for you, Mark?”
“Not aside from my parents,” he shook his head. “And yourself?”
“Unattached currently,” you said while grabbing a water bottle from your bag. “My girlfriends would say this seems to have the making of a summer romance.”
Mark found himself curious to see if you thought so too. Certainly he thought that seeing Bridget go off into the sunset with someone else would be the end of his romantic life, but perhaps he was mistaken.
“Well, we’ll have to see if they’re right,” Mark said simply and you chuckled.
Spending time with Mark was easy. It was as if your friends hadn’t all bailed on you and this was your plan all along. The days quickly melted into one, then two, then three and it was an easy routine for Mark to join you at your hotel in the morning.
You were both too caught up in a whirlwind of tourism filled with adventures and flirting that you barely even noticed your departure date approaching.
“Has it already been ten days?” you sighed, leaning into Mark’s side as you sat along the beach just outside of your hotel.
“Went by a lot faster than I expected,” he admitted. “Feels like just yesterday I was so forwardly introduced to you.”
“Shut up, Mark. You’ve had a good time,” you laughed. “Now let’s do one more fun thing before we go back to the doom and gloom of London.”
“What do you have in mind?” he asked as you stood up and walked with him towards the water.
“Hmm, have you ever tried the opposite of skinny dipping?”
“Which is?” he frowned.
“This!” you exclaimed while pushing him into the water, fully clothed, but not before he grabbed onto your waist, pulling you down with him.
You squealed in surprise, falling on top of him in the shallow water.
“Did you really think you could get away with that?” Mark asked and you shook your head with a laugh.
“It was either this or you’d get up and chase me and throw me into the water.”
“We could do that too if you wanted,” he moved one of  the wet strings of your top off of your cheek which it was currently stuck to.
“No, I think I kind of like it here,” you said with a whisper.
“Good, because then I can do this,” his thumb moved from your cheek to your chin, pinching it between that and his index finger and bringing your face closer to his before finally pressing his lips to yours.
You brought yourself as close as you could to him, your hands holding on to both sides of his face. You could feel the water’s crests and falls and tasted its salt on Mark’s lips.
When he gently moved away, giving you both a moment to breathe, he said, “I had to make sure I gave you a proper kiss goodbye.”
“Could I perhaps entice you to make that a regular occasion?” you asked.
Mark kissed you again, this time shorter before giving you a thinking face and then nodding his head.
You chuckled and grabbed his hand, standing up yourself first before pulling him up with you. He trailed behind you as you walked towards your things, pressing a kiss to your temple from behind, then your neck until neither of you could help it and turned around to kiss properly again.
“Why don’t you stay in my room tonight,” you murmured. “And maybe if we’re lucky the vacation will continue when we’re back in London. Any objections?”
“No, sustained,” he kissed you again and you giggled at his joke.
“Save something for the room, Mark,” you teased as you pulled away, “If we stay out here much longer we’ll be putting on a show for the tourists.”
“And?” he raised a mischievous brow.
“Mark!” you exclaimed with a surprised laugh, quickly grabbing your bag while he grabbed the blanket, shaking out the sand before grabbing your hand and heading back to the hotel, prepared for whatever this summer romance would bring.
A few months later…
“Mark! I’m here, are you home yet?” you called into the townhome as you stepped across the threshold, throwing your keys on the table and slipping off your coat.
There wasn’t an answer so you assumed he hadn’t arrived yet, but when you climbed up the stairs you saw him lying down on the couch with a pillow over his face.
You chuckled a little and quietly bent down and removed the pillow only to be met by a soft,
“Hey.”
“Last I remember, you asked me to come over after work,” you leaned down and pressed a kiss to his nose. “How was your day?”
“Exhausting, can’t you tell?”
“Yes, quite clearly,” you nodded as you sat on the edge of the couch. “So, did you miss me?”
“Dreadfully,” he nodded and beckoned you to come lay down with him. “How was work?”
“It was alright,” you sighed. “I think I’m getting tired of working for snooty rich folk. Maybe I need a change of scenery.”
Mark kissed your temple and you hummed,
“Or maybe I should stay like this all day.”
“I wouldn’t complain,” he teased.
“But alas, there’s work to be done. Come on, we have to make dinner,” you pushed yourself up and took Mark’s hand, helping him up and dragging him to the kitchen.
You had agreed earlier on what to make for dinner so you easily fell into a rhythm of preparing things together.
Even though the clouds were grey and it was perpetually raining in London, when you were with Mark, everywhere felt like Greece.
“Mark, how am I supposed to get any bloody work done when you keep distracting me?” you asked just as he finished pressing yet another kiss to your neck.
“We could forget about work,” he suggested.
“As much as that sounds enticing, I’m starving,” you sighed. “And I think we both know what happens when I haven’t had enough to eat.”
“Yes, I believe we’d like to avoid that,” he nodded his head and went back to chopping up some vegetables.
“Mark, can you pass me the pepper and paprika please?” you asked, pointed over to his spice cabinet as you walked away from the stove for a minute to go grab something to drink.
As you bent down to check what was in the fridge, something caught your eye on the counter and you quietly closed the fridge to inspect it.
“Mark, what’s this?’ you asked, picking up the small box and opening it as he protested only to stare blankly at what was in front of you.
“Ideally,” he started, “this would not have happened.”
“I-I just…” your voice trailed off.
Mark sighed, “You see I was worried this would happen, you’d see this and get scared and run away, and I’ve ruined it, haven’t I.”
“You mean this is meant for me?” you pointed to the ring, then to yourself.
He nodded his head.
“When did you get it?” you asked.
“The day we left Greece,” he rubbed the back of his neck. “See I told you, you would think I was insane-.”
“I never thought that,” you were grinning, looking up at him.
“You-You don’t?” he confirmed.
“Since I’ve ruined the surprise, why don’t you ask me the question and see what my answer is.” you suggested. “Go on.”
“I-Darling, are you sure you want to do it like this? I could plan something more romantic than being in my kitchen in the middle of making dinner.”
“No,” you shook your head. “It’s perfect.”
Mark took a deep breath and walked up to you, taking your hands in his, saying your name in the way he did that made you feel like it was his magic spell that would fix all his problems.
“Will you-,”
“Yes,” you interrupted him, unable to even contain your own excitement.
“You didn’t even let me get the question out,” he chuckled.
“Sorry, sorry,” you shook your head. “Say it again.”
“Will you marry me?”
“Mark Darcy, I would love to marry you,” you grinned and he quickly pulled you in for a searing kiss.
When you pulled apart, Mark took the ring from the box and slipped it onto your finger.
“Your parents are going to think we’re insane,” you laughed.
“And yours won’t?” he poked.
“Oh I’m sure they will, but-wait, what’s that smell?” you frowned.
Mark turned around and you looked past him seeing the smoke coming from the pan.
“Shit!” you exclaimed and quickly went to turn the stove off and move the pan off the hot element.
You both examined the burnt food and then looked at each other.
“Take out?” you suggested and he nodded.
“Thai?”
“Nah, what about Mexican?” you asked and he shook his head.
“Indian?” Mark landed on and you nodded.
“That’s the one.”
Mark easily reached out his hand and took it in yours before grabbing your coats and heading out the door.
As you walked down the lit streets, Mark lifted your hands so you could both see the ring glimmering under the streetlamps.
“I think it looks complete with a ring,” you said. “Don’t you?”
“I surely do,” he nodded and pressed a kiss to your hand. “I love you, my darling.”
You smiled fondly at him, “I love you too.”
Several years later…
Mark never got tired of going to sleep and waking up next to you every single day. If anything, his heart longed for you to be next to him when he was away on trips for work.
Tonight was no different, except it was a little sweeter on this occasion, it always was when he was coming back from being away.
He quietly got changed and slipped into bed next to you and you jolted awake, turning around excitedly.
“Jesus, Mark! When did you get here?” you asked.
“Moments ago,” he chuckled.
“I tried to stay awake,” you yawned. “I really did.”
“Well, you’re up now,” he kissed you. “And I suppose that means we can fall back asleep together.”
“Yes, but before we do that, I have something I wanted to ask you,” you started. “I’ve been thinking about this when you were away and I was wondering what you think of maybe having a little one join us?”
“You mean like Lucy?” he looked over at the corgi sleeping at the foot of the bed. “I suppose we could get another puppy-,”
“Mark, not a puppy,” you laughed. “A baby.”
“A baby,” he hummed thoughtfully. It was something he always assumed he would have, it seemed like the next logical progression of things, and when Mark thought of having a miniature version of you running through the hallways of your home, he was sold. “I think, if you’re ready of course, maybe we should start trying.”
“Really?” you grinned.
“It’s an easy decision,” he kissed your nose. “I would take any chance to bring more of your light to the world.
You gently reached out for Mark’s cheek and looked at him lovingly.
“Funny, I was thinking the same about you.”
You both shared a sweet kiss, and Mark let his lips stray away from your lips, kissing along your jaw then your neck.
“You know, we could start trying now,” he murmured. “No harm in getting a head start.”
“Well, I am awake,” you raised your brows and squealed playfully while he pulled you on top of him.
After a little bit more discussion in the following days, you and Mark had gotten yourselves as prepared as you could for life as a family of three. Mark was determined to make sure your finances were in line and what both of your work lives would look like once a baby came into the picture. With that sorted you began trying, and weeks turned into months, which turned into a year, and then another, still with nothing.
Mark could see how difficult it was getting, each time you went in with a little light of hope in your eyes, but it continuously became dimmer and dimmer with each negative result.
At this point, you both wanted it so badly, but nothing you were doing seemed to do the trick so to speak.
Mark waited patiently outside the washroom while you went in there with another test, by now you had both lost count. When you came out he could see that the test still wasn’t done, so you both waited in silence by the kitchen counters for the three agonizing minutes to pass.
When your watch beeped, you hesitated before lifting the test up to your face to see what the results were. Mark was standing across from you and he watched as all hope and energy drained from face and how quickly your shoulders began to shake while you covered your face with your hand and began to sob.
Mark quickly came to your side and wrapped you up in his arms, taking the test away from you and placing it on the counter, allowing you to feel the weight on your chest, but also lean on him.
“I-I’m so sorry, Mark,” you shook your head. “I don’t know what’s wrong with me.”
“There’s nothing wrong with you,” he shook his head. “It’s just a hurdle, we’ll jump over it like we always do.”
“I don’t know how much more I can take,” you cried softly into his shoulder. “It’s been two years since we started trying, Mark.”
“Then let’s press pause,” he whispered and kissed your temple, he could feel a few tears welling in his own eyes, not only was his heart crushed by the state you were in, but regardless of how much he let on, he wanted this too.
After a few more moments in silence together you told Mark you were going to call in sick at the museum and just take the day.
“Do you want me to stay with you?” he asked.
“No, you have important things to do at work, you should go,” you said as you walked back into your room.
Mark watched from the doorway as you walked to your side of the bed and slipped back under the covers.
“Are you sure?” he checked again.
“I’m sure,” you nodded.
He came in and kissed your temple once more, whispering a soft I love you which you returned.
Mark gathered his things and headed out the door, calling a taxi to come and pick him up. As he sat in the car and an overwhelming feeling came over him, he was about halfway to work when he couldn’t sit with it any longer.
“Can we please turn the car around,” he asked. “Just take me back to where you picked me up,” he told the driver while dialing a number on his phone.
“Hello?” a man’s voice on the other line responded.
“Paul, it’s Mark, I’m not going to be able to come to work today, something came up at home and I have to be with my wife.”
“I’m sure the world won’t burn down without you for one day,” Paul assured him. “Go be with your wife. You both barely took any time off for your honeymoon anyways.”
“Thank you, Paul. Call me if you need anything that I can do from home.”
“I won’t. Like I said, go be with your wife.”
Mark chuckled and they hung up the phone. He’d always had a hard time letting go of work, but sometimes it was a little easier when it came to you, and you both agreed there were a few things in your relationship that not even an urgent case could pull Mark away from. In his opinion, this was one of them.
When he entered the house again, he tossed his keys on the front table and slipped off his shoes while loosening his tie.
Coming back into the room again, he could see you were still curled up in the bed and Mark came carefully placing himself behind you and wrapping an arm around your waist.
“You came back?” you asked.
“This is more important than work,” he said. “Someone else can save the world today.”
You turned around and pressed your face into his chest, holding him so tightly.
“Thank you for coming,” you mumbled. “It hurts a little less when you’re around.”
“I feel the same,” he kissed your hairline. “And regardless of how things turn out, whether you get pregnant, or we adopt, or decide not to have a baby after all, we’ll still have each other.”
You looked up at him with a small smile,
“No regrets?” you asked, but he could tell you were teasing.
“Never,” he leaned down and kissed you and you knew he meant it.
A few more years later…
Mark stood outside the front door to his home, looking down at what was in his hands in contemplation. What would be the best way to break the news to you? He could just come in and show you, but perhaps it would be best to tell you slowly, he could manage that, he just had to use his skills as a lawyer and it would be easy as pie, you wouldn’t even know what had hit you.
With one last deep breath, Mark swung the door open and stepped inside.
“Darling, I’m home!” he called.
“Oh good!” you called, “I have something I want to tell you.”
Mark frowned curiously, and thought to himself what could it be that you had to tell him?
He hid his one hand behind his back and climbed up the stairs, meeting you in the living room.
“What was it you wanted to tell me?” you asked when you stepped into the room from the hallway.
“What did you want to tell me?” he asked in return.
“Maybe we should go on three?” you suggested and Mark nodded.
“1…”
“2…”
“3.”
“I bought another dog.” “I’m pregnant.”
Mark’s jaw dropped as he now held the baby dachshund puppy in front of him.
“You’re-You’re what?!” he repeated.
“You bought another dog?!” you looked with surprise at the puppy in front of you.
“I just thought Lucy was getting lonely, and we could use the extra energy in the house, but wait,” he paused, placing the small puppy on a soft spot of the carpet. “You said you’re…”
“Pregnant,” you smiled.
“But I thought-,”
“We couldn’t have kids?” you filled in for him and he nodded. “Turns out impossible sometimes means: very, very, very, very unlikely.”
“We’re going to have a baby,” Mark said softly to himself. “My God, we’re going to have a baby!”
He scooped you up in his arms and pressed a smacking kiss to your lips and you joked,
“Took us long enough.”
To which Mark laughed and said,
“I know right.”
“Now, I think someone on the carpet wants our attention,” you moved over to pick up the small puppy who was wagging its tail excitedly. “What’s your name, little one?”
“Maisie. She’s a rescue,” Mark said, wrapping his arms around you again from behind.
“A baby, and a puppy,” you shook your head. “It’s perfect, don’t you think?”
Lucy barked and you both laughed.
“Someone certainly thinks so,” Mark commented before bending down to pick Lucy up so she could meet her new sister.
“It will be a full house, that’s for sure,” you kissed Mark’s cheek, “but something tells me that’s what will make it fun.”
Nine months passed like a whirlwind and before you knew it, your beautiful baby Ana was here with minimal complications, leaving you with a very healthy baby.
The first time Mark held her in his arms you knew it was love at first sight, and you didn’t think you’d ever seen him smile that big.
“How am I supposed to go back to work when she’s growing every second,” Mark sighed and whispered as you held the napping baby in your arms, sitting up in your bed.
“You could try it out and see what it’s like,” you suggested. “Or maybe you could do consulting from home for a bit, until she’s a little older. Do you think they would let you do that?”
“They might,” he nodded. “They’ll probably call the police to report a missing person first.”
“Come on Mark, you’re not that bad,” you chuckled. “Okay, maybe you are, but you’ve always made time for what’s important. Trust me, especially if you talk to Paul, he’d be surprised if you didn’t quit.”
“I’ll call tomorrow and speak with the firm to see what they’ll allow,” he said.
“Are you sure you won’t miss working cases too much, and you won’t be too cooped up in the house with us?”
“I’m sure, and like you said, if it works out I can always reevaluate when she’s older.”
He looked back down at his daughter and pressed a soft kiss to her forehead.
“Don’t you think she’s just the most beautiful baby you’ve ever laid eyes on,” you sighed, leaning into your husband’s shoulder.
“The most beautiful indeed,” he turned his head and kissed your temple. “Just like her mother.”
“Mark, I’m literally a week postpartum after a geriatric pregnancy, no one looks good after that,” you laughed.
“You have the glow of motherhood,” he insisted. “And your smile still hasn’t changed,” the corner of your mouth with his thumb.
“Sweat and delirium, my love,” you responded. “But either way,” you looked down at Ana once more. “I still can’t believe she’s really here.”
“Neither can I,” Mark spoke softly, leaning down to kiss your shoulder. “Our daughter.”
“Have you thought about what you want her to call you?” you asked.
“I was thinking Papa, but I’m not sure it suits me, but she’s far too young to be training her.”
“Speak for yourself, I’ve already started to teach her how to say mum,” you teased which made Mark chuckle.
Ana started to move and shift in your arms and you could sense she was waking up to be fed.
“Unfortunately, I can’t be much help for this,” Mark said. “But I can go into the kitchen and warm up one of those lasagnes your mother made when she visited so that we can have something to eat.”
“Sounds splendid,” you kissed your husband’s cheek and exchanged quick "I love yous" before moving on with your respective tasks.
No matter how tired you got over the next couple of months, you both would never forget that feeling, the one of gratitude that by some chance of life, you were able to create the little human being in your arms.
“Sweetheart, are you sure you’re okay to do today alone?” you asked.
“I’m sure,” Mark insisted, “look at us,” he pointed to the baby carrier fitted with a recently one year old Ana. “I’ve got phone consultations lined up for the day and some simple casework. You should go before you’re late.”
“Goodness, you’re right,” you looked down at your watch. “They really don’t tell you how hard it is to leave.”
Mark quickly kissed you goodbye and you kissed Ana, lingering a little longer, not knowing how you’d last a full day without your little girl.
“Alright, goodbye my loves, I’ll miss you,” you blew them both kisses and Ana giggled which made you smile as you headed down the stairs and quickly ran out the door to get into your taxi.
Back inside Mark slowly began to get into the groove of things.
“Today is Papa and Ana banana’s day,” he smiled and kissed the top of her head, listening to her babble. She’d do that whenever he called her Ana banana and sometimes he’d do it just to hear her little attempt at speech and communication. “Alright, shall we get to work?”
Ana bounced in her carrier, smiling brightly.
“I’ll take that as a yes,” Mark grinned.
Having already felt with breakfast, Mark put on an earpiece and began making his necessary phone calls, walking around his home office consulting on matters pertaining to different cases he was consulting on.
After about an hour or so Ana began to get a little fussy and Mark assumed she wanted to move around a bit, so he took her out of her carrier and placed her inside an enclosed play area in his office while he did some paperwork.
He loved any time he would get to spend with Ana, even if it meant working from home.
The rest of the day went by in a flash and by the time you got home both Mark and Ana were taking a nap on the couch. Ana was lying on top of Mark’s chest drooling on his shirt and Mark still had his bluetooth in his ear.
It was a sight to see and you quickly snapped a picture before either of them awoke.
Carefully you took Ana off of Mark and went to place her in her cot and woke up Mark, knowing if he stayed asleep any longer he wouldn’t be able to sleep that night.
“Where’s Ana?” he asked immediately and you chuckled.
“I put her in the cot. Your father-daughter day go as planned?”
“Exactly,” he nodded and you kissed his cheek.
“Come on, I brought home dinner. You can tell me all about it.”
You took Mark by the hand and dragged him to the kitchen, making sure to turn the baby monitor on in case Ana woke up.
You grabbed your takeout and sat on the counter, eating your food, watching Mark and listening to him recount all of the cute things Ana did throughout the day.
Even though more of your meals had become store bought and you were running around in every direction, it was always all worth it when at the end of the day you could sit together and visit, especially with Ana at your side.
“I think we should go, don’t you?” you placed the invitation back on the table. “It’s a good excuse to go on vacation again and it’s around the area where we met. It could be romantic.”
Mark looked skeptical.
“I’m not sure it’s the best idea, perhaps we could go another time.”
“Isn’t this your friend getting married?” you asked. “Come on Mark, please? Right Ana darling? Don’t you wanna go too?”
“Yes Papa,” she stood up in her chair and clasped her small hands together. “Please!”
Mark looked over at his wife and daughter and shook his head.
“Alright, I’ll look into the tickets,” he said and you grinned and Ana clapped.
“Your first real vacation Miss Ana, what do you think?” you kissed her cheek.
“I don’t know,” she shrugged. “I’ve never been on vacation.”
Mark chuckled and picked up his now six-year-old daughter,
“Well, your mum and I met on vacation,” Mark told her. “She was very clumsy.”
“And your papa was very-”
“Handsome,” Mark tickled Ana and she squealed. “Now before your mum can correct me, why don’t we go look for flights, Ana banana.”
“Alright, Papa,” Ana agreed.
“Ah ah ah,” you scooped Ana out of Mark’s hands. “After she finishes her dinner.”
Ana quickly jumped out of your arms and went to eat her food as fast as she could so she could join her dad.
“Slow down, sweetheart you’re going to choke,” you chuckled as she pushed her plate away from herself, saying,
“Done!” with her mouth half full of food.
In the end you got what you wanted because three short months later you had landed in Greece and were on your way to the location of the wedding being held for Mark’s friend.
“Mark, isn’t this the dock where we met?” you asked, looking around at the benches as scenery that looked very familiar. “Yes, I think it is, look, there’s that hotel I stayed at.”
“Mum, this is where you and Papa met?” Ana asked and you nodded.
“What a lovely coincidence that is,” you smiled and kissed your daughter's cheek.
Mark just gave you a small smile as you awaited the ferry and after you boarded the crowded boat, you squished into a few seats with Ana sitting half on your leg and half on Mark’s.
“I guess you finally have the chance to take this ferry,” you laughed a little to yourself, but you could help but notice that Mark was awfully quiet. You figured you’d ask him about it later, maybe once you’d settled in your hotel room, but first on your list was to mingle with the rest of the wedding guests and the bride and groom in some of the hotel common areas.
All three of you couldn’t have been more happy to get off that boat and Ana was excited to have a little run around before coming back and holding one of your hands and one of Mark’s.
“Did you and Papa come here, Mum?” Ana asked while swinging both her arms.
“No, we didn’t,” you shook your head. “I guess we were just waiting to come with you.”
“Well you waited a long time.”
That made you both chuckle as you finally finished your walk and arrived at the hotel.
“Should we check in or-?”
“Mark!” you all turned when you heard his name only to see a bright smiling blonde woman coming your way. “Mark, it’s so good to see you, I’m so glad you could make it.”
She gave him a big hug before taking a step back and introducing herself to both you and Ana.
“I’m Bridget,” she said. “It’s so nice to meet you all, you must be Mark’s family.”
“Yes,” you grinned. “And you’re the bride!”
“Guilty,” she laughed. “I wasn’t sure if you’d come or not, but I figured I’d throw the invitation out there.”
“Oh, why wouldn’t he come?” you asked curiously, not noticing Mark’s tense reaction.
“It’s just, after Mark and I broke up I came to Greece, oh what was it, around ten fifteen years ago, and I just hoped it wasn’t a sore subject still, but I can see it isn’t,” she pointed at you and Ana. “I’m so happy for you guys.”
You wanted to respond, but your mouth seemed to stop working. You heard Mark do it for you and quickly excused you all so you could check into the hotel.
You could hear your name being said a few times when finally a gentle hand on your shoulder pulled you out of your trance.
“Ana, can you do Papa a favour and go over there and spend time with aunt Jude?” he asked.
“Okay,” she nodded and chased after her father’s friend’s wife leaving just you and Mark.
You turned to him with a hurt look on your face,
“You came to Greece to chase after her didn’t you,” you said quietly. “That’s why I found you on the dock; that’s why you were waiting for the ferry.”
Mark chewed on his lip and nodded.
“And you didn’t think to tell me she was your ex before letting me convince myself it was a good idea to come here?”
“Darling, you were so excited and I didn’t think it mattered-,”
“Mark, please,” you shook your head. “I just-,” you paused and took a breath. “I need some time.”
You took some of your things and went to the front desk to check into the hotel while Mark went to join Jude who had Ana in her arms. He made friendly conversation until you were done and you collected Ana and went upstairs to your room in silence.
“Ana, how are you feeling, my love?” you asked.
“I’m a little sleepy,” she admitted. “Is it bedtime soon?”
“Mhmm,” you nodded. “We’ll all get ready and tuck in early, how does that sound?”
She yawned, “Good.”
Once you got in the room, you started to help Ana get changed while Mark got out your toiletries and easily took over when it came to teeth brushing. You took the time to get changed and settled, giving Ana a book to flip through while you and Mark both silently got ready for bed and slipped in the bed on either side of Ana.
You slept close to the edge, your back turned away from the centre so Ana naturally decided to curl closer to father.
“Is Mum okay?” Ana asked in a quiet mumble.
“I hope so,” Mark kissed her head. “Why don’t we go to sleep, maybe we’ll all feel a little better in the morning.”
You hoped deep down Mark was right.
“Why isn’t Mum coming with us to the beach?” Ana asked while Mark helped her put on some sunscreen.
“She just needs some time to herself,” Mark said simply. “You know how Mum and Papa sometimes like to have alone time.”
“Yeah, but we’re on vacation,” she tilted her head. “Do you think she’ll come later?”
“Maybe Ana banana, I’m not sure. I think Papa might have hurt her feelings by accident,” he admitted.
“Did you say you were sorry?” she asked.
“I did, but sometimes we need to say sorry and give some alone time, too.”
Ana nodded her head thoughtfully, “Okay, then let’s go to the beach so she can have her alone time.”
Mark nodded his head and took his daughter’s hand in one of his and grabbed a bag in the other and they headed out to the beach together.
Ana was adamant on starting off with a sandcastle, but both her and Mark found out quickly it was a little harder than it looked in all the movies, so they quickly abandoned that task to go for a swim. Ana had always enjoyed being in the water and Mark loved seeing how much she was enjoying herself. He just wished you were there to see it with him.
He tried to keep his focus on Ana for the time being, knowing he would hopefully have a moment later to talk to you, but the day passed so quickly and before he knew it you were back in bed resting to prepare for the rehearsal dinner the next day.
The next morning, Mark made a point to speak with you before you went down for breakfast, knowing if he left it he may not catch you until dinner.
“I spoke with Jude,” he started, “she can look after Ana this afternoon so we can talk.”
“Alright,” you nodded. “We can meet on the terrace.”
Mark agreed and before you left, quickly reached for your hand to give it a squeeze.
You chewed on your lip before squeezing it back, he was still your husband and you still loved him regardless of your hurt.
The afternoon couldn’t come fast enough for Mark, he waited anxiously by the terrace after dropping Ana off with Jude, at least she’d have fun playing with her friends.
“Mark,” you waved him down by the stairs. “Come on, let's walk,” you suggested.
He jogged to catch up with you and you walked side by side down the stairs and further along into the streets, busy with traffic and locals, just going about their daily business.
“I figured I should probably tell you the whole story of how I ended up in Greece,” Mark said, shoving his hands in his pockets.
You nodded your head and motioned for him to continue.
“After Bridget and I broke up, for the second time mind you, I thought I had to chase after because in my mind I thought she was the person I was going to spend the rest of my life with,” he said truthfully. “So I wound up on that bench on the dock, mourning my losses as she came to the island and I was stuck on the mainland.”
“You wanted to marry her?” you asked.
“I thought I did,” he clarified, “but then I met you.”
“Mark-,”
“You know me, darling. I’m terrible with emotional declarations, which is probably why I never managed to tell you how quickly I fell in love with you,” he admitted. “I was set to pack my bags and go home, but you convinced me, somehow just in your demeanour to stay, and so I did and spent ten of the most wonderful days of my life by your side. It made me realize the reason I came to Greece wasn’t for Bridget, I came because I had to meet you.”
You looked up at Mark and saw him staring down at his shoes.
“It never occurred to me to mention her because of how clear my future looked with you in it. How clear it still looks.”
“And how does it look?” you asked.
“Well,” he sighed. “Ana grows up and becomes a lawyer of course.”
You chuckled at that.
“And as she grows we retire eventually, move into that rundown cottage in the countryside we always talk about buying. They come up with some way to keep dogs alive forever and we grow old, fixing our cottage with Lucy and Maisie and Ana visits us on weekends, eventually with a husband and our grandchildren. It’s quiet and simple, but it’s us.”
You smiled a little to yourself and leaned your head against his arm which he easily wrapped around you.
“How uncomfortable was that for you?” you asked, knowing your husband wasn’t often fond of talking about his feelings.
“Unbearable,” he said, “but worth it.”
“Good,” you turned his head to face you and pressed a quick kiss to his lips. “I’d love to grow old with you, Mark Darcy. Although I’m already convinced we have a little bit, the hotel bed is really not doing it for my back.”
“That’s funny, I was going to say the pillows for my neck,” Mark teased and you nudged him a little. “I’m sorry I didn’t tell you earlier.”
“I’m sorry I doubted you had a very romantic reason for not telling me,” you joked while circling back towards the hotel. Ana caught both of your eyes and she waved at you, rushing down to meet you at the bottom of the stairs, much to Jude’s worry.
“Mum, is your alone time done?” Ana asked.
“Yes it is, my dear,” you laughed and bent down to kiss her forehead.
“Good, cause you need to come see this trick I learned!” she exclaimed, grabbing both yours and Mark’s hands and pulling you up the stairs.

Ice Prince - Park S.
Tumblr media
____________________
[Prince!Sunghoon x Princess!Reader]
warnings! suggestive, cursing, family issues, violence (a slap), other idols mentioned (yuna, wonyoung).
words: 6k
╰┈➤ You didn’t choose to be a princess. All you wanted was to be free, but that would never happen. Especially now, that they chose you among the ten princesses battling for Park Sunghoon. Everyone feared him, expect you. Will you be able to warm the prince’s cold heart?
____________________
Park Sunghoon is South Korea's most handsome prince.
Everyone knew him for his perfect face, decorated by beauty marks. Also his nice shaped body, taller than most boys at his age. A lot of princesses had fallen into his mysterious trap. However, that wasn't the case with you.
You disliked Park Sunghoon. In your eyes, he was a cold-hearted prince who looked down upon others because of his handsome face. His grades were average and his social skills poor. So what was Park Sunghoon other than a handsome face?
And to think that you were chosen as one of the ten princesses to become his future wife was even worse.
Hours and hours, you were sitting at your castle's library, reading the same romance novels over and over again. You were jealous of the protagonists's freedom, while your entire life was in the hands of your parents.
You didn't want to disappoint them. That's why you followed every rule. However, there were times you wanted to escape.
Every time you would step a foot outside of the kingdom, your father would yell at you. At the age of five, you received your first punishment.
"When will you understand that you are a princess? You are not allowed to do anything before I tell you to!" He shouted, his hand coming in contact with your cheek. A loud slap was heard, marking a big print on you.
The moment you left the room, you noticed people were standing outside. First, your maid looking at you with pitiful eyes. On the other hand, your two older brothers were red from their anger. However, they should know better than to go against the king. Your father.
"Ready?" Your maid asked, snapping you out of your thoughts. In your mind, the man you would marry would love you so much that he would sacrifice himself for you. But which prince in their right mind would sacrifice themselves for a stranger?
"I think so." A sigh left your mouth, twirling around the mirror. You weren't a teenager anymore. Now you were eighteen years old and ready to fight for your marriage.
The dark blue dress you were wearing played around with the wind and a smile overtook your lips. Your hair was curled and pulled half up-half down. You looked gorgeous. But for the wrong guy.
"Oh, come on!" Your maid said, noticing your sadness behind your eyes. "Park Sunghoon is extremely handsome and the wealthiest out of all them. Any princess should be thankful to God for having a change with him."
"Yes, till he starts completely ignoring her." You turned around to look at the older women, leaning back on the small table behind you. "When I met him at eleven years old, I thought he was mute. Handsome, but very antisocial. Oh, and very prideful!"
"Mr. Darcy from Pride and Prejudice was also like that, but you didn't seem to mind it." She mentioned, and you both giggled at her comment. You lowered your head in defeat, hearing your favorite character’s name.
"Alright. Ready now?" She asked one last time, opening your bedroom's door.
"Ready."
.・゜゜・  ・゜゜・.*Time Skip*
"Your highness, we have arrived." The man on the horses said, giving them a last whip. You frowned at the harsh action, and suddenly your door was open. You had to abandon the carriage that protected you.
With one step on the ground, you felt your heart beat raise dangerously. You mustn't feel so eager to see Sunghoon's pretty face, but you are.
"Your highness." The only bodyguard who was accompanying you stretched out his hand. Placing your palm on his strong shoulder instead, he curled it back to him.
Numerous voices had already filled the palace, and you had arrived five minutes earlier. The tall door in front of you was open, two guards at each side of it. They bowed when you stepped foot, and you gave them a smile.
The place was enormous. Nothing like the rest of the palaces you had visited. You knew Sunghoon's kingdom was the wealthiest, yet you weren't ready for what you were about to see.
The walls were light brown, while gold details were decorating it. A line of flowers hung on the celling, creating a cross with the other one which started from the other side.
Lastly, a big white-clothed table was next to the door. Your stomach groaned seeing the delicious food, and you decided to pay it a visit.
"Ah, he is gonna choose her for sure!" A woman next to you at the table said. She was holding a glass of red wine, drinking small sips here and there. The other women in front of her had signifying cat eyes.
"Don't say that. You are like one of the prettiest princesses in South Korea as well." The cat-eyed women comforted her, taking a sip from her white wine. None was eating like you did, and the bread in your hand fell back down when you noticed it.
"Not when she is here!" The complaining women replied, pointing at someone with her finger. Your eyes went by themselves in the direction, curiosity washing over you.
And you recognised the princess by the minute you led eyes on her. Jang Wonyoung. The most beautiful princess of South Korea.
Her parents, along with Sunghoon's ones, had already decided a long time ago to pair them together. Their unmatched beauty and witty mind would create the perfect future kingdom.
That's when you realized that this ball was only typical. The wife had already been chosen, the rest of you had come here for the humiliation.
"Welcome people. I am so delighted with your visit to celebrate together my son's twenty birthday." The king of the palace took everyone's attention, and the once loud room fell silent.
"And, of course." He continued. "To find his future wife." The man was sitting at the throne at the back of the room. Next to him was his wife, and then Sunghoon.
The king was so sure about his first son that he didn't make more like the rest of the kings usually did. Sunghoon's cold gaze found his father, and then his guests.
His eyes alone made you shiver. It was like an invisible armor protected him, making him feel better than others. Well, more sure than others. He had the face, and that's all he needed to win.
"The dance may start!" And with that, the piano began playing. And the violin next to it joined as well. The eyes of the ten princesses for Park Sunghoon, were on him.
He must choose a princess to dance with.
People hadn't started yet to feel the music. All eager and curious about his decision. Sunghoon's eyes wondered around the princesses. Starting from the first till the last. However, he gave clues with his gaze which stopped a bit on certain ones.
And guess what, his eyes almost completely skipped you. He was quick to move to the one next to you, not even moved by your friendly smile. You scoffed under your breath, and the princess next to you heard it.
"I know, right?" The women who was complaining from before whispered to you. Now that you could take a proper look at her, you saw how pretty she actually was. And you also finally recognized her.
"Princess Yuna, you are prettier than her." And you didn't lie. In your eyes, she was gorgeous. Shin Yuna smiled at you, her face titling to the side.
"Thank you!" Was all she replied and turned back to Sunghoon. You felt a little annoyed that she didn't return the compliment, but you brushed it off.
"Jang Wonyoung."
"Perfect! Let's dance!" Wonyoung's smile reached her ears, rushing to the black-haired prince. He didn't return the smile. He stayed cold like always.
"Of course the ice prince would choose her. We can't compete against Wonyoung." Yuna turned to you again, her previous smile long gone.
"Wait, how did you call him?"
"Ice prince. You didn't know? Everyone calls him like that." No, it was your first time hearing it. However, a tiny smile creeped on your lips. 'Yes, the nickname suited him perfectly.' you thought.
"Yuna, what do you say for a walk around the garden?" You asked, wanting to leave the crowded room. Even if you didn't like Sunghoon's personality, your chest hurt to see him dancing with another princess.
"Yes, please!"
.・゜゜・  ・゜゜・.*Time Skip*
"He is a dick!" Yuna suddenly shouted, your eyes becoming wide. "But a very handsome dick." She sighed and furrowed when she noticed your surprised state. "What? Princesses can't curse? My father is not here anyway. I can do whatever I want."
She scoffed and started walking towards a bench. It was outside of the ballroom, and the music flew through the walls. You clenched your jaw, pictures of Sunghoon and Wonyoung flying back in your mind. And Yuna seemed to have the same memories, because her eyes became watery.
"No, Yuna-"
"Are we really that average next to Jang Wonyoung?!" She shouted, her hands shaped into fists. You didn't know what to reply. Yuna was breaking down in front of you and all you could do was stare. But after that, she felt better.
She cried a few tears, yet after that she was so happy. Her suppressed emotions escaped her chest. Now she was back in her calm state, a small smile on her lips.
Maybe if you express those emotions too, you wouldn't feel that hurt.
"But he is so handsome-"
"And what? What else is he?" You stood up from the bench and Yuna's eyes got wide. "He is nothing more than a handsome face. It's really annoying how he thinks he rules the world because he was born pretty. But you know what? He is dump and boring!"
"No Y/N-"
"His face doesn't cover for his falling grades and his poor etiquette skills. He is rude to everyone and looks us down. But you know what? Park Sunghoon is the dump one for thinking his face can solve anything!"
"Y/N stop-"
"Someone has to bring that ice prince back into reality! Make him realize that he is nothing else than a rude asshole!"
"Ice prince?" The male voice behind you made you froze. Yuna stood up, big-eyed, to see the man behind you. Looking at Yuna, frightened, she nodded at you, and you didn't want anything else to understand who was behind you.
"Prince Sunghoon." Yuna bowed, raising up the edges of her dress. Slowly turning around, you took some steps back, realizing how actually close he had come. His hands were interlocked behind his back, while his head had leaned down at your height.
Your breath got caught at the back of your throat seeing him. Maybe you were lucky enough, and he hadn't heard his name. However, his gaze told you something different. It wasn't his cold, usual one.
He was burning your face with his dark brown orbs. Every part of it turning into ash. You swallowed a hard knot down your neck, not daring to compete against his intense eye contact.
"And who are you exactly?" He asked, a teasing tone hiding in his voice. You couldn't believe in your unluckiness. The one moment you decided to talk. Yuna minutes before was saying even harsher things, yet now she was silent in front of him.
"I asked you a question." He repeated when your mouth stayed close. You wanted to ask him what was he doing out here. Wasn't he supposed to dance with his future wife? But clearly in the situation you were, you couldn't even form a word.
"P-princess Y/L Y/N."
"Mmh." He hummed in approval, straightening his back. His eyes looked at you up and down with his usual critical gaze. His chin was raised, looking down at you like he was doing to everyone.
"Um, I-i am sorry." Suddenly Yuna interrupted, going to stand in front of me. "I am princess Shin Yuna. My kingdom is-"
"I don't care." His words shut Yuna's mouth, a gasp escaping from her. Even if you could only see her back, you could imagine her glittery eyes. She wanted to marry Park Sunghoon more than anyone else, despite her prior words.
Sunghoon took the road back to the ballroom, leaving me and Yuna behind. Yuna spun around, her jaw hanging open. You didn't look at her, your eyes instead on the grass. The humiliation from before wasn't enough. When he almost completely skipped you.
You were sure that you were the princess he had noticed the least. He didn't even know you, or your name. And after your words, he wouldn't even consider you as a friend.
"The ceremony is starting soon. We should go." Yuna informed you, and you nodded. The ceremony in which Park Sunghoon will pick the princess he wants to be with. The princess that is going to accompany him from now on till forever.
The ten princesses were in line in front of him, while his parents sat at the thrones behind him. He knew what he should do. Jang Wonyoung was smiling warmly at him. She knew too.
"So, my son. Which princess are you choosing to create memories with and born the next king after you?" The king said, a smile on his lips. They knew already the results. Yet his final answer shocked everyone.
"Princess Y/L Y/N."
"What?!"
.・゜゜・  ・゜゜・.*Time Skip*
"Welcome to our palace, your highness." A butler said, pushing open the door. You could tell from everyone's expression that they didn't expect you here.
"Your room is next to the prince's. Let us settle your things." The butler took from your hands roughly the suitcase, rushing with the maid up the stairs.
Your maid had informed you that the palace had been deep cleaning since yesterday morning. The glasses were glittering against the sunlight and the floor was still slippery.
All those preparations. Yet they weren't for you. They had made a deal and Sunghoon broke it. People probably still wonder what you are doing here instead of Wonyoung. But to be honest, you didn't know what you were doing here either.
"You arrived." The queen acknowledge you, her son standing behind her. You bowed at her majesty, nodding at her words. Your gaze immediately went on Sunghoon, whose stone cold expression never left his face.
"Sunghoon, once our maid is done, you shall show her the bedroom. We choose the best one for you."
"Thank you so much, appreciate it." And with that, the queen left. Now you and Sunghoon could talk freely, without hiding behind your masks.
"Why did you choose me?" You hurried to ask him. Judging from his face, he was waiting for that question. It stayed exactly the same, not a muscle moved. It had already become tiring trying to read past him.
"Not even a good morning, or a bow?" He asked ironically, stepping closer. Whatever you did, it felt like he was above you. The power he held was stronger than anyone's and it made you weak on your knees.
"Good morning. Why did you choose me?" You repeated, and he frowned at the pressure. 'A good achievement for a starter.' you thought. "I-i mean, I said a-all those things."
"That's none of your business." He was quick to end the conversation, not giving you any more space. It felt so weird. Minutes before, the dress you were wearing was enough to warm you, yet now it felt too light.
He was really the ice prince.
"Prince Sunghoon." The maid from before came down, gaining Sunghoon's attention. He took some steps back from you, turning towards her. "Her room is ready."
Your nose scratched in annoyance at the maid. She was in a lower class that you, but she called you 'her'. Even the workers here didn't want you.
It made you sad. Your chest was heavy as you walked up the stairs, trailing behind Sunghoon. You would live here alone, without even your dear maid or your brothers. Here, everyone hated you.
'Sunghoon, I hate you.'
.・゜゜・  ・゜゜・.*Time Skip*
Life with Sunghoon was better than you thought. On the first days, you cried yourself to sleep. Gripping the blankets, trying to drown your sobs. However, as the time passed, people seemed to get more comfortable with you here. Sunghoon as well.
"You play the piano too?" His long fingers gently pushed on the piano's buttons, creating the melody that was currently entertaining you.
You had gone to the library to pick up a romance novel. Something good to pass your time, since Sunghoon wasn't the most talkative person. His schedule was full anyway, so you barely saw him through the day.
This moment was one of the few ones that you caught a glimpse of Sunghoon. A piano was laying across the library, next to the bookshelf that contained your favorite novels.
"Of course I do. Every prince should know at least two instruments." He replied, taking his eyes off of the piano for a moment to look at you. "You don't?" His gaze travelled up and down, raising an eyebrow at you.
"Um, my father made me learn harp, but I must admit I am not good at it." You scratched the back of your neck, an awkward smile on your lips.
Suddenly, you felt self-conscious about your lack of knowledge. Usually you didn't fear admitting that you only played piano. Instead, you supported your unusual decision.
However, seeing how perfect was Sunghoon, made you feel worthless for him.
"Alright." Was the only thing he said, turning back to his work. Seeing him so peacefully hitting the notes made your stomach twirl. The sunlight was caressing his face. But its warmth annoyed him and he closed the curtain.
"W-what are you doing?" Your figure slipped next to his, pushing him aside a little to sit next to him. Your bodies were stuck together at the small seat, your bare arm brushing against his clothed one.
Your finger tapped on the button, creating a noise. Once you got more comfortable, you began playing normally. You tried to copy Sunghoon's prior melody, waiting for him to join you. Yet that moment never came.
Sunghoon could feel his heart beating fast. It was the first time another person made him feel nervous. He was used to making others feel uncomfortable with just his presence. Now his cheeks were on fire, and the fear that you would notice got over him.
He stood up, turning his back to you in order to hide himself. That's when you realized what you had done. You stood up as well, looking at his back.
"I-i am sorry." You said, not knowing what to do. "Continue playing. I am gonna find a book." You rushed back to the shelves, before you could hear what Sunghoon had to say to you.
This was not good. You had started liking Sunghoon, and it was not good.
Going back to your room, you made a promise to yourself.
'Don't fall for Park Sunghoon.'
.・゜゜・  ・゜゜・.*Time Skip*
The promise soon enough broke when today's incident happened.
"I am sorry. Do you know where prince Sunghoon is?" You stopped a maid, placing a hand on her shoulder. She was holding a basket of dirty clothes against her right hip. Glancing at them, you recognised the suit as Park Sunghoon's.
"Yes, he currently takes a bath, your highness."
"Alright, thank you so much." You let her go, sighing to yourself. The butler had told you to call Park Sunghoon, because they have to talk about something.
Going down to inform him about where the prince was, he replied that it was okay. He even mentioned that once he was out, it would be a pleasure for him to call Sunghoon down.
So that's what you did. You waited some minutes and went up to his room.
First knock, nothing. Second knock, nothing. Your hands began to sweat, thinking that maybe you should wait for him down. However, the door opened without needing Park Sunghoon.
'He had left it open? Or the maid from before?'
Taking slow steps inside, you looked around. It was empty, and the running water indicated that he was still showering. With that on mind, you should have left. But instead, you walked further to his room.
It was way bigger than yours. His bed was in the center of the room and next to each side was one small table. To the one in the left had a candle and a letter. The one on the right was empty.
Your fingertips brushed on the letter, feeling the hard paper. It was plain white and already opened. The paper from inside was peaking, begging you to read it.
You bit down on your lip, shaking off the sinful thoughts. One step back to exit his room, only for you to rush back in. The water was still running. Maybe you had time. You wouldn't read it whole, just the name of the sender.
What strange power had pushed you to do that? Any second Sunghoon could walk in, and then all those friendly feelings would vanish. But you shouldn't care, you don't like him anyway.
Then if you don't, why your heart dropped at the name?
"Jang Wonyoung?"
"What are you doing here?" You hadn't noticed how the water was no longer heard. The letter flew out of your hands, falling on the floor instead of the table you were aiming for.
Sunghoon was right in front of you. Only a towel hanging around his waist. Water was still dripping down his body, caressing his hard abs.
You knew Sunghoon was very fit. He did horse riding every day and practiced dancing three times a week. Your gaze wouldn't leave his figure when his clothes were too tight on his body. Plus points if he was wearing a white shirt.
A lot of fantasies had taken over your head at the sight of him. Imagining how his body looked like under those heavy clothes. And how his skin would feel under your hand.
"Sunghoon!" You covered your eyes, cheeks red as dirty thoughts filled your head. On the other hand, Sunghoon didn't mind that you saw him like this. He even seemed to enjoy your flustered state. You swore you could see a smirk growing before closing your eyes.
That made your will to open them bigger. You were so eager to see Sunghoon pull off another expression. Actually, that was your only comfort and entertainment here. But now you were guilty, and your eyes wouldn't open.
"What is that?" He asked, the smirk from his lips dropping. His attention went on the letter scattered on the floor and his eyebrows furrowed. "Did you read it?"
"No, I swear! I-i am so sorry. Your butler asked me to call you and-" You stopped once you felt his hot breath hitting your neck. Your eyes were still closed, yet the warmth he brought you burned into your skin.
'Could the ice prince be more than just a cold prince?'
The water drops from his hair landed on your face, rolling down from your cheek till your jaw. Your fingers parted, leaving a small line open. Only to make eye contact with Sunghoon. His bored eyes were gazing into yours.
He lowered his body down. Right hand holding the towel, while the other going down with him. Your hands left your face, seeing his fingers hold the letter. 'Oh no.'
"Are you sure you didn't?" He asked once again, standing up to wave the letter in your face. You could see it from his eyes. He didn't believe you. However, you wouldn't let your guard down. You swallowed a hard knot, your eyes pinned on the floor.
"Y-yes."
"Did you see who send it?"
"N-no."
"Stop lying." He came closer to you, his fingers brushing the skin of your hands. It was meaningless to lie to him. He already knew the truth. Sunghoon had seen how fast your eyes went by the letter. And how wide they got once you saw her name.
"Y-yes. I am sorry." A breathy giggle left from his chest. Looking out of the window, then back at you while licking his lips. The smirk came back. Oh, how much more it suited him than his bitter expression.
"And what? Are you jealous?" It was happening. There were all the signs. His head leaning closer to yours, then titling it to the side. Plump lips coming closer to yours, until you pushed him away.
"I am so sorry. I am going now!"
You didn't want to disappoint your parents, but the freedom tasted better. Settling for your parents' standards wouldn't bring that. Maybe that's the moment you have been waiting for.
Rushing back in your room, you reminded yourself of the promise you had made.
'I won't let myself fall into the ice prince's trap.'
.・゜゜・  ・゜゜・.*Time Skip*
"My butler advised me that we should sleep together tonight."
"What?!" A shout escaped your mouth at his words. After what happened yesterday in his bedroom, you were scared to even talk to him.
The maids had noticed that too. Every time Sunghoon tried to approach you, your body moved away. And every time he questioned you, and you couldn't escape the conversation, your reply would contain only one word. That word was either yes or a no.
You could see from Sunghoon's face that he was getting annoyed. When you ignored him, he would frown or clench his jaw. You admitted it that you felt bad for him. But involving yourself with him would result in unwanted emotions.
Sunghoon opened his bedroom's door, stepping aside to let you in. After his butler's demand, you couldn't do anything other than follow. It would be very suspicious for a couple to not want to sleep together.
"I am gonna change. Please settle yourself as I do." He said, disappearing into the bathroom. The room had stayed the same since last time. Simple and neat. Expect that the letter on the small table was gone.
He must have hidden it in his drawers. After you noticed it, he couldn't do anything else. But you wondered why would he choose you if he wanted Wonyoung instead. Or maybe he choose you, but regretted it?
It doesn't matter. You don't like him in reality as well. And tonight, you will prove it once again. At least that was your first plan.
"You can go change. I am ready." Sunghoon stepped out of the bathroom, revealing his pajamas. It was the first time you saw him in something other than his prince's suit. And he still looked gorgeous. Dark blue satin pajamas, covering him from head to toe.
Seeing his pajamas, you were too shy to wear yours. It was a cute night wear dress. Pink with lace at the edges. At least it reached down your knees, and it wasn't that short. However, one wrong move on the bed and it would ride up.
You swallowed a gulp, slowly stepping out of the bathroom. Sunghoon was sitting at the edge of the right side, a book in his hands. When he heard the door cracking, he raised his gaze to you. And his cheeks reddened.
He froze in place, eyeing you up and down. You had crossed your hands behind your back, your gaze firmly down. You let his eyes wonder on you, and you shifted awkwardly.
"Um, on w-which side of the bed you sleep?" He asked after clearing his throat. You noticed he had already claimed the right side, so you replied left.
"No, it's alright. You can continue reading." You said, watching Sunghoon closing the book and leaving it aside.
"No, I had finished the chapter anyway." He explained, adjusting himself on the bed. You walked to your side, sitting down. Then one leg came up, following the other, and your hand holding the edge of the night wear.
"Um, if you fell uncomfortable, ah. We don't have to do this."
"No, it's alright." It was your change to escape, but as the time passed you were only falling deeper into his sweet trap. He was fighting himself to keep his gaze away from you, till you covered your body under the blankets.
He couldn't believe he had you next to him. His body was already so warm, and with the blankets, it felt like he was on fire. Sunghoon pushed them a little lower from his chest, letting himself breathe.
That was not good. It was easy for him to contain his calmness before, but now he was losing control.
You turned your back to him, curling in your spot. It was obvious that you didn't want to sleep next to him, and his heart dropped. Looking around his bedroom, he finally closed the lights.
He was thankful you were so cold towards him, because if you weren't, he didn't know what he would do. The images in his mind were already sinful enough, and your excitement would make it worse.
"Goodnight." Your faint voice was heard, and his head turned towards you. A smile creeped on his lips, a smile that none had seen. You would kill to see that smile, but he did it only when you weren't looking.
"Goodnight." He replied, turning his back to you.
Morning came fast. A loud knock woke up Sunghoon while you were still sleeping.
"Yes?" He said, rubbing his eyes. It was his maid. She was announcing that you must come down for breakfast. Sunghoon promised you will be down in a minute, and her footsteps faded.
The hand rubbing his eyes went back to its place, humming a bit before closing his eyes. Yet they popped open when he felt exactly what he was touching.
He was still shocked about how you ended up between in his arms. Your small body curled up in his chest, your hands resting on it. He had wrapped his hands around your body. One under your head, caressing softly your hair, while the other on your back.
Sunghoon took his hand away from your back, sitting up a little. He was breathing fast. And he placed his free hand on his chest to calm himself down.
You shifted a bit, and his eyes got wide. His body fell back on the bed, afraid to wake you up.
He shouldn't have chosen you. He knew this might happen, but he didn't think it would be so soon. However, he liked it. Sunghoon's fingertips began twirling the strands of your hair, and you hummed at his touch.
The smile on his lips was getting bigger while his hand discovered more of you. From your hair, it went on your cheek. Drawing a variety of shapes on your skin, your eyes finally opened.
The last shape was a heart, before you flew up. Escaping from his hands, you sat up. Sunghoon mimicked your action, both looking at each other. You were big-eyed, and he had that smile. Your heart skipped at the sight, cheeks heating up.
His smile only added to his beauty. One that you could stare at forever.
"Sunghoon-"
"Breakfast is ready!" The maid cut you off, knocking again at the door. Sunghoon's smile dropped, fixing his hair before standing up. He had forgotten about that.
"We will talk about it another time, Y/N."
"What time?" Sunghoon took his freshly washed clothes, entering the bathroom.
"Today, at 7:00 am, garden." He said, closing the door behind him. Your finger checked your pulse, which was speeding up dangerously fast.
Maybe a future with Sunghoon wouldn't be so bad after all?
.・゜゜・  ・゜゜・.*Time Skip*
You had come five minutes earlier, curiosity eating you out. Biting your nails, you reminded yourself that you were a princess. But who cares? You didn't want that title.
"Hello." Sunghoon behind you said, and you turned around. The sun hit his face, turning his dark brown eyes into a honey like colour. His hair was messy, and he was in his horse riding uniform.
You liked that side of him. The raw beauty of Park Sunghoon, and not the unrealistic one the rest saw. Under the sun, some face scars were visible, and small pores on his nose. Like a normal person, and not a porcelain doll.
"If I remember right, you had mentioned something about wanting to try horse riding?" Your eyes widened, realizing the reason for his appearance.
It was true; you had told him that you would like to try horse riding. However, you weren't allowed to do so since you were a female. But you loved horses. They looked so elegant and were so kind.
"No, Sunghoon-"
"Oh, don't worry. I will help you." He said, taking your hand in his. Then he drove you towards the stable, where all the horses were. "That's mine." His finger pointed at the only black horse on the stable, and a giggle left your mouth.
'Of course he would choose this one.'
"Choose your horse, and we are ready to go." Your eyes travelled around the thousand horses. You didn't have any particular colour in mind, but the plain white one caught your eye.
"I will take the one that its colour is the opposite of yours." You said, smiling teasingly at Sunghoon. He smirked in response, going towards the one you wanted.
"Was that supposed to imply something?" He asked, bringing the horse close to you.
"Maybe."
"Yes, but you should know that love and hate are two sides of the same coin. With simllar way we can perceive white and black." You caressed softly the horse, and Sunghoon handed you a carrot.
"Mmh, and which one are you, Sunghoon? White or black?" He didn't reply, instead he smirked wider at you.
Sunghoon guided you to feed the horse, then put on the equipment, and helped you settle on it. At first, you were terrified. Your hands were trembling, gripping as hard as you could the saddle. Sunghoon was laughing at you, and your hand pushed playfully on his shoulder.
You thought he wouldn't look prettier after you saw his smile, but his laugh was angelic.
"Are you alright?" Sunghoon got more serious now, since you were ready to start your ride. Your fingers were still twitching, scared at the new experience. Yet you comforted him with a thumbs up, and the ride began.
Sunghoon was patient, going unbearably slow for you. The green paths you crossed were everything, and you whished you could ingrave them forever in your mind. You whished you had practiced more in drawing. So you could carry the scenery on the paper forever.
The sun started going down, and by the time you came back, it was night. The moon had replaced the sun, indicating it was time to go back. You were sure the maids would have gotten worried, but Sunghoon didn't care about it.
It was the first time you saw Sunghoon so free. And the first time you felt so free.
"Here." Sunghoon stretched out his hand, and you placed yours into his. You gave him a tight squeeze, and the other held his right shoulder. Once your feet were on the ground, you raised your gaze at Sunghoon.
He wasn't leaving your touch. His hand still interlocked with yours, while his other was on your arm. You blushed, clearing your throat. Your hands tried to move, but Sunghoon's grip was stronger.
"Y/N, why don't you give me a change?" He blurted, and your eyes popped open in surprise.
"W-what?"
"Since day one, you have been distant from me. Don't you think this could work out?" Emotions flooded in your heart. A unique experience for you.
You thought you could manage it. You thought that a relationship with Sunghoon would be good. But now that he says all those things to you, no words come from your mouth.
"Y/N-"
"Why Wonyoung send you a letter?" The question you wanted to ask since you saw her letter. It finally left your mouth, taking Sunghoon aback. He furrowed, anger building up in him.
"You don't think I secretly talk with Wonyoung or something?"
"I don't know what to think." You replied, and his grip loosened up a little. His hands left yours and fell to his sides. You shouldn't have said it, but you needed an explanation.
"She send me this letter, because I was supposed to choose her. I mean, everyone knew about our parents' deal. But I didn't reply back to her."
"Why?"
"Because I love you." Your shoulders tensed up, looking at Sunghoon's raw emotions drowning him. The ice prince had opened up, and his feelings were anything but cold.
"Sunghoon, I don't want to be a princess."
"Then don't be."
"But what about you?" Sunghoon stepped closer to you, leaning to your eye level.
"I will follow you."
"No, Sunghoon. I don't want to hold you back-"
"You won't." He cut you off, taking your hand back into his. Then he brought it closer to his lips and placed on it a light kiss. You couldn't stop the hot tears rolling down your cheeks, but Sunghoon kissed them all away. One by one.
"Sunghoon, I love you too. But I want my freedom."
"And?" He asked, his hand leaving yours. That same hand then rested on your waist, while the other brushed off some strands of your hair behind your ear.
"Y/N, let's be free together."
And with that, he smashed his lips on yours.

the end of the world
tom holland x reader ♡
two lovers that reached the end of the relationship.
she was sunshine and he was midnight rain
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
It was clear from the beginning that two lost souls would find their way in the Milky Way. It was evident that the pair of chocolate-brown eyes would be fixed on the girl's, whose eyes were filled with teardrops sparkling like stars.
Love seemed to dissipate from their presence, replaced by hurt and pain that gnawed at their insides instead of the butterflies that once fluttered around them on the nights they met. The birds ceased their songs on their favorite Saturdays, and their tea tasted as dull as their shared kisses.
Young love is often portrayed in movies as pure innocence, building upon their emotions and the desire to understand their hearts, but they rarely depict the harsh realities of the real world. In reality, it marked the end for them.
Their love is lost in the air, not be founded in their hearts that were stringed.
Y/N always thought their love will be like Amy’s and Laurie’s, or like Elizabeth’s and Mr Darcy’s. An undeniable love that was stronger than their words. Yet, perhaps these were words she was too blinded to perceive, or maybe they were simply absent, unheard by her ears.
Tom always believed that their love was pure, strong, and transcendent, beyond the reach of the stars. He struggled to find words to capture the intense emotions that surged within him whenever he laid eyes on the girl of his dreams, the embodiment of the perfect world he envisioned.
However, he gradually came to realize that this was merely a fantasy, detached from the reality in which he found himself trapped.
It was one of those rainy nights in London when the city's sparks were veiled by raindrops. Y/N always found herself reflected in the rain; she adored the scent it carried and the melodic patter it painted upon the earth. It was one of those nights when she would coax Tom outside onto the streets, where they'd listen to their favorite 60s playlist and dance in the rain—a silly cliché that they held dear to their hearts.
However, tonight was the end of their world.
Their soaked clothes clung to their chilled bodies, as not only did the world darken around them and the raindrops fall heavier and heavier, but so too did their hearts. What was once a yellow world now turned blue.
"Why do you have to let me go, Y/N? I don’t understand!" Tom cried out, his words aimed at Y/N, whose eyes reflected the rain. "I know, and I will be forever grateful for everything you've given me," she replied. "But we'll only continue to hurt each other if we stay together." Y/N licked her lips, which once tasted like Tom's, but now bore the bitter tang of salt and regret.
"I would give up everything just to be with you. I-I'm sorry for my absence, but this new life—the acting career—it's all so overwhelming for me, and you know it.“ Tom’s eyes were shining of hope and desperate need of Y/N’s warmth.
Some things remained unchanged, but as soon as Tom became the golden boy of Hollywood, his life transitioned from its former purity into one illuminated by the spotlight. The stage was now his domain, his face adorning posters, TV/cinema screens, and magazines. He was everywhere.
Y/N remained grateful and supportive of his acting career, finally seeing him recognized as the talented young man who once dreamed of playing Billy Elliot or auditioning for Romeo multiple times.
He was now acknowledged by the world, although he had always been seen by her.
His world.
Yet, as with every fairy tale, not every story concludes with a happily ever after, where the princess and the prince marry. Just like Y/N and Tom..
He changed. He was still Tom Holland, but he wasn't the same Tom. Y/N saw it coming but chose to ignore the spotlight, waiting backstage for him. But he remained in the center of the stage, basking in the attention and affection of the crowd.
Y/N, once the midnight rain, found herself overshadowed by Tom's sunshine. But tonight, as their world comes to an end, their roles reverse.
"It's not that you're physically absent, Tom, here in London or beside me. It's that I can't seem to find you anymore. We're living in different worlds now, and there's no room for me in yours. I wish I could express this differently or see things from a different perspective, but..."
Her gaze met his, witnessing his tears mingling with the rain, his trembling not just from the cold, but from the pain. She knew that saying goodbye would only make it harder.
"Please, don't say that... Sweetheart, I can change. I'll change. I'll be the same person I was before, I promise!" His hands tightened around hers, afraid to let go.
"I will always love you, Tom, but I have to let you go. Not just for your sake, but for mine too. It's time for both of us to find our paths again."
She stepped closer, delicately brushing her hand against his cheek, her lips meeting his for the last time.
Perhaps not forever, but for now.
And as she walked away, Tom didn't realize it was the end of their world.
It ended when she whispered, "Goodbye."
this story is very much inspired by the song: the end of the world by skeeter davis.
I hope u like this angst! ♡

Omega Pt. 3 [Natasha]
Summary: Natasha and Y/N are getting weaker and Yelena and Wanda are trying to solve the problem
Warning : Curse, Fighting, discomfort, itchy, I think that’s all (let me know is I miss anything)
Pairing : Natasha Romanoff x Reader, Yelena x Wanda x Reader (Platonic), Wanda x Darcy, Yelena x Kate
Word Count : 1,388
A/N : I paired Wanda and Darcy because I don’t have anyone in mind to pair with Wanda. No hate to Vision, but the role doesn’t fit him or Agatha, so I’ll settle with Darcy.

Natasha started to toss around her bed, sweating and whimpering at the new feeling of irritation and discomfort setting inside her, especially her mating mark, which had been itchy for hours and got worse and worse through the night
Natasha groans, opening her eyes after an hour of sleep and uncontrollably tossing around her bed. She’s taking a deep breath and throwing the blanket away from her in order to lessen the heat she’s been feeling
"Fuck," she mumbled, getting up and stripping off her clothes, leaving her naked
"I need a shower," she whispers, going to the bathroom to have a cold, needed shower
But she stopped when she saw her reflection in the mirror of her bathroom, and her eyes dropped down to her neck — her mating marks were now red. She swallowed the lump in her throat and touched her mating mark
"It must be hurting her," she mumbled to herself while running her fingertips on the bit mark, but before she could go all Alpha again, she shook her head and quickly got under the shower and started her cold shower
"She’s better off without me."
Tumblr media
"Why don’t you talk to your sister?" Wanda asked the blonde Russian, who scoffed at the mention of her sister
"Why would I?" she stubbornly throws at Wanda, who rolls her eyes at the other Alpha
"I know something is going on with Y/N, and I know that it included Natasha, and what is your problem with your sister? And don’t you dare say nothing." Wanda gives Yelena a warning look, and Yelena just sighs
Even if they are both Alpha and Yelena being stubborn, she can’t afford to be on the bad side of the Witch, plus she’s her friend, so she can’t do anything about it, but when it comes to her Omega, Kate—oh god, she can be the wild aggressive Alpha she could be, and no one wants to mess with her or any other Alpha in the team, but the team is afraid to be on the bad side of Natasha
Natasha is the aggressive, possessive, and dangerous Alpha when it comes to her properties and belongings; she will not hesitate to kill or give you a lesson if needed, which is why the team is afraid of her, but Yelena, well, she’s afraid of her sister but not too afraid like others
"Nothing." Wanda quickly cut off Yelena before she made another excuse for her lies
"Shut it, Yelena." "I know things between you both are nothing, so spit it out," Wanda snapped at the blonde
"Fine. I don’t want to talk to her or acknowledge her because I know she’s the reason why Y/N has been acting strange these past few weeks. Because Y/N didn’t come here to just drop off the food, she’s here to visit her Alpha. Natasha claimed her." Yelena huffs, crossing her arm over her chest, and Wanda can’t believe what she heard
"Then why didn’t you tell me sooner? Oh my god, Yelena, the answer is already a few feet away from us." Wanda was shocked by A. That you've already mated Omega, and B. you’re Natasha’s Omega
"Wanda" Darcy her Omega cut their conversation
"We will talk later," Wanda said before taking off with her desired Omega, who’s in distress
Yelena just ignored her and went back to her and Kate’s apartment to spend quality time with her Omega, whom she’s been missing for the past few days now.
Tumblr media
You on the other side are not doing well too; you’re much worse than Natasha; your body is on fire; the discomfort and distress are understatements; you feel unsafe and uncomfortable alone in your house, in the middle of the forest, without anything to protect you, and this makes your heart beat three times faster than it already is
"Mhhmmm." You whimper, rubbing yourself on your nest and releasing more pheromone to coat the room in our scent in hopes that it could bring you some comfort, but it doesn’t do anything even a bit; this only makes you weaker than you already are
Without your Alpha, the comfort of her, and her scent, you will never be comfortable in your life, not unless the bond is broken. You could go back to your normal style of living if you survive
"Too itchy, too hot, mmhh," you whimper, clawing your neck. Red line after red line is added until your neck is a shade of angry red
You're going crazy in your nest; you don’t know what you're going to do until you pass out in your nest.
Tumblr media
"Open up." Yelena bangs on Natasha’s door loudly and carelessly. She hates to do this, but she can’t just sit down in her apartment with her Omega to have the quality time she needs; she needs answers, and the answers she needs are in Natasha's hand.
"Come on, I need to talk to you." She keeps banging on the door until it opens up, and the angry, annoyed redhead is looking at her like she’s ready to kill her sister.
"What do you want?" Natasha growls, only popping her head out of the door; sweat can be seen, and her face is red.
"I want the truth; what happened?" Yelena asked with a growl.
"I don’t know what you’re talking about!" Natasha spit back, not threatened by the young Widow.
"Don’t act like nothing happened; I know about you and Y/N, and I know that you have something to do with why Y/N was acting weird after she visited you, so tell me the truth." "What. Happened.!" Yelena said in greeted teeth
"Again. 'I .Don't. Know. What. You're. Talking. About' so leave me alone," Natasha spat, and she was going to slam the door shut, but Yelena stopped it with her feet and pushed it forward and started attacking Natasha.
Yelena tackled Natasha to the ground, attempting to pin her down, but Natasha quickly fought back, kicking her stomach and pushing her back, making Yelena stumble back, freeing Natasha.
But Yelena quickly stood up, blowing a few punches that Natasha was defending, then taking Natasha’s collar shirt and pushing her into the wall. Natasha didn’t have a choice but to push Yelena’s face away to at least loosen the tight grip on her neck, but before any of them broke each other's necks, Wanda heard the light commotion and pulled them apart with her powers
"Cut it out, you two; whatever you’re fighting with, it’s useless." Wanda scolded them, with Yelena trying to break free while Natasha took a deep breath. She’s thankful that Wanda pulled them apart because, whether she admits it or not, she’s weak, she doesn’t have much sleep, and her body is itching
"And Yelena, I visited Y/N, and she’s not there anymore; her place is clean; there's not a single clue where she was left behind." This makes the two women look at Wanda, shocked, worried, and anxious at what they hear about the news about you
"Free me, Wanda," Yelena demanded, but Wanda didn’t do what the blonde said because she knew that she would do something stupid once she freed Yelena
"Wh-what?" Natasha asked, still shocked, and she couldn’t believe what she heard. Wanda brought her down gently to her feet
"Oh, now you care?" You fucking cared?!" Yelena shouted, clearly wanting to kill Natasha
"I think you should sit this one out. I don’t know what happened between you and Y/N, but all I know is that you claimed her, Natasha. And you failed to look after your Omega....." Wanda, stop and look at what Natasha’s state is now
"And by the looks of you, sweating, itching, and weak...." Wanda chose her words carefully, debating if she should mention it and make the two Widows worried or sit the idea out to make them less panicked
"You fucked up!" With that, Wanda left Natasha’s room with Yelena behind her, the red wisp still preventing the blond from moving, leaving the redhead Alpha alone with her thoughts running miles, miles away, thinking about you
"If anything happens to Y/N, I will kill you!" Yelena shouts at Natasha. Choosing not to say a thing to either of them is the best choice. ….for now

Our Lost Girl, Our Babydoll - Part 3
Marvel AU
Pairing: Alpha Steve Rogers x Omega Reader x Alpha Bucky Barnes
Theme: A/B/O
Tumblr media
Summary: A bookshop and a spilled coffee leads you to Clint. He leads you to Natasha, and you lead them both to your best friend Darcy. They try to introduce you to Bucky and Steve but you're full of excuses and Irish goodbyes. Until Bucky catches your scent on Natasha and he's sliding in your DM's and offering to help pack up Darcy's apartment. Steve wants to give their bookworm the world and your Irish goodbyes won't slip passed him, because his eyes never leave you. But what's giving you the lost look in your eyes?
Chapter Summary: It's time for the reader to meet Bucky.
Darcy and Natasha both went to speak but were stopped by the main door to the apartment block opening. Thankfully it was Maria and not overexcited alphas.
“Hey, I’m sorry but a certain two alphas are getting a little worked up. I’ve just had to explain girl talk.”
You brushed yourself down, ridding yourself of danish crumbs as you stood up.
“Let’s back some boxes shall we!” You said, false excitement in your voice.
“Hang on, finish what you were saying.” Nat prompted.
“There’s nothing else to say, my body isn’t happy that’s it.”
“How bad is it? The suppressant sickness?” Asked Darcy. Maria’s eyes went wide and she tried to discreetly take in your scent but couldn’t get passed the blocker on your neck.
“Honestly, don’t worry about it.” And you dipped passed Maria in the doorway.
“It’s bad, isn’t it?” Darcy asked Natasha.
“I’m not sure.”
“I can’t get passed the blocker.” Maria whispered as they followed you.
I can hear you all you know. Let it go or I’ll go home and take the tape guns with me.” You called behind you.
“Ooooo I’m terrified.” Nat snorted as she caught up with you. “Just to warn you, they are both here and Barnes has been pacing.”
“I know, I can smell them both.”
Maria raised an eyebrow and glanced at Natasha. You wearing a blocker and so were they but you could still smell each other. Natasha smirked back at Maria knowingly. You weren’t just a good match. You were a perfect match. Maria rolled her eyes back at Natasha. It was sickening annoying when she was right, especially when it was her matchmaking skills.
You’re making idle chitchat about packing boxes and how much they’ve done so far, when you stop abruptly on the stairs, a route you’ve taken over the elevator to buy some time. A whiff of what you could only decide as deliciousness finds your nose. A whine starts in your throat and you slam your hand over your mouth to stop it coming out. You hear a door open and footsteps, that also seem to stop abruptly. The silence is followed by a deep pur and your eyes follow the sound. Looking up the next flight of stairs your eyes lock with the alpha, who’s now peering over the bannister back at you. Blue-grey eyes lock with yours and a wash of warmth glides over you.
Bucky.
You try to control your omega urges but it’s a poor fight when your perfect match is standing there. Your legs feel unsteady and you grip the bannister to balance yourself. You find yourself gravitating up the stairs and towards the alpha. Your eyes scanning him as you do. His shoulders are broad and you can almost feel the strength radiating from him. The red Henley stretches around his biceps, just as his jeans do around his thighs. You glance at his neck, your omega urges still leading and wanting to check his mark, even though you knew he was unmated. He tilted his head so you could fully see it. Bare, besides the scent blocker over it. He smirked at you and purred again and glanced at your bonding mark. You moved your hair and pulled at your clothes so he could see yours in return. He smiled softly when he saw yours was also bare about from the blocker.
It didn’t slip by the others observing from the stairs that you had shown him the opposite mark to the one you’d shown Steve weeks earlier.
Before you realise what’s happened your toe to toe at the top of the stairs. You feel yourself abruptly come back to your senses and your eyes go wide when your chest to chest with one of your matches. Your nose picks up the other is nearby.
“Oh.” Is all the comes out of your mouth as you go to take a step back, forgetting your at the top of the stairs. You almost lose your footing and Bucky is quick to grab you, an arm around your waist as he pulls you into him.
Your eyes meet his as you let out a gasp.
“Hey Babydoll.”

Thomas Christopher Greene once stated in a book, "Time can be slowed if you live deliberately. If you stop and watch sunsets. If you spend time sitting on porches listening to the woods. If you give in to the reality of the seasons."
But right now, time doesn't slow down for you as you sit hours and hours long on the window ledge of your best friend's dorm living room. You can feel the hardness of the wall right at your back, your knees pulled up tightly on your chest, arms wrapped loosely around it.
You gave in to the reality of the season though, summer nights are always wonderful for some people, however, these past summer nights have not been made for you as you have spent them waiting patiently for a certain someone to arrive safely in the comforts of their room.
Your hair shifts lightly with the swift motions of your head turning upon hearing the quiet sound of keys and profanities right behind the door.
Altering your body out of the ledge soundlessly, you mutter, "Where were you?"
"Jesus, you scared me." Wanda's soft voice echoes throughout her dorm, clearly having the knowledge that her loud voice wouldn't wake up her already sleeping roommate.
She huffs out, slender fingers going through her unruly hair, "You're here again?"
You watch her quietly, nodding your head in resignation as you walk past her, "Just wanted to see if you arrived safely." you say.
Wanda. Wanda has been doing this for the past months. Going out late, going home late. Missing your friendly dates, the sitcom days, the months of months plans the both of you made last year was now forgotten, thrown out like a piece of antique.
Useless and vintage.
You didn't know what changed.
"I'm not a child, you know." she harshly replies, accent coming out strong and venomous. You halted your steps, shoulders tense at the voice she was using at you.
"You don't have to go here, bother Darcy, and wait for me to arrive like some obsessed best friend who can't seem to live without hanging out with me. Stop being so clingy."
Okay.
"I just wanted to see if you arrived safely," she mocked, her phony voice skirting around the corners of your breaking heart. "Bullshit. We both know you're just afraid to be alone. Well, guess what Y/N, I am sick of that. I am sick of you."
Ever felt like someone stabbing you right in your chest, okay, wrong. This doesn't feel like stabbing to you, this felt like a bomb going off, and the pieces of your heart fly in different directions and it doesn't stop there. The pain continues on as someone's pair of hands and feet crush every tiny piece laying steadily on the floor.
That pair of hands and feet are Wanda's.
"You're not gonna say anything?" she says exasperatedly, face warp in aggravation as she stares at your back.
You have many things to say to her. Many unsaid things that you know will go deaf in her perfectly working ears. You want to say how she's been a shitty best friend ever since she met that dude at a party, how you are grasping at that tiny piece of friendship that you knew is being broken piece by piece as the time goes by, how when you look at her, you don't see her, you see a stranger living in the body of your best friend. Of the one you dearly love so much you would go into deeper depths just to see her happy.
You wanted to say that but instead, you utter these words, "What do you want me to say?"
Wanda groans, "Anything! Just— I don't know, say something." she says desperately, trying to make you understand something that you clearly can't comprehend.
"I'm gonna go." You take a step forward, towards the door only to be stopped by her tight grip on your arm.
"You can't just go."
"Wanda, I can't fucking understand you right now. Are you drunk? Are you high?" you snapped at her, voice in an edge as you turn to stare right at her face.
She opens her mouth to say something but you are clearly not done with your words.
"What do you want me to fucking say? That you've been such a bitch lately? That, what, the old woman I met on the bus weeks ago felt more like a best friend than you ever did for these past months? What do you want me to fucking say?" you finally declare, your brows furrowed, jaw tense with fist clenched tightly against your palm.
Wanda loosens the grip on your arm as she drinks in every word you have said to her. Not wanting to stare longer at the realization that is coming to her face, your back faces her again as your hand clutches the doorknob and latches it open for you to walk away.
"Y/N, wait—"
You whip your body fast to glower at her, "No, you listen. I fucking don't know what has gotten into you to treat me like this. We were doing fine then I just woke up with you ignoring me. I did this because I care and the friendship I have with you matters."
The timbres of your voice quiver, undertones of heartache can be heard in the staggering of your hardened voice, "But fucking shit, Wanda. You could've just told me you're tired of being in this friendship. I would have respected that, you don't have to make me feel so worthless."
Watching the light trembles of her lips and the brave step she took closer to you, you can see the morphing of hurt flashing right at her face. You're confused. She intentionally spurted those words at you, how come she has the guts to look so anguished?
"Y/N, I just—"
But you are already walking away, time slowing down with your breathing rigid and labored. Your steps are filled with regret at how you have thrown those words at her. You didn't mean it, as much as you want to mourn for whatever has gone downhill for the both of you, what you have said to her was the truth and you didn't really care right now as you are greeted with a magnificent vision of the sun slowly rising for the world to see.
Funny, you should have listened to Thomas Greene and spent your time sitting on porches listening to the sound of the woods instead of waiting till the sun rises just to make sure your best friend arrived safely.

Arvid request
Him buying his gf gifts in each country he races in. And making sure it's perfect each time putting thought into and worrying it
gifts of love
arvid lindblad x gf!reader
masterlist
Tumblr media
Every time Arvid travels, you can’t help but miss him. As a racing driver, his career demands frequent travel, but he always finds a way to make you feel close, no matter the distance. It all started after his first race weekend in Bahrain.
When he returned, he presented you with a beautifully wrapped box. “I have a little something for you,” he said, his eyes sparkling with excitement. Inside was a bottle of perfume, a scent he had meticulously chosen because he knew you loved certain notes—vanilla, jasmine, and a hint of amber.
“You didn’t have to do this,” you said, touched by his thoughtfulness.
“I wanted to. Do you like it?” he asked, a hint of nervousness in his voice.
You sprayed a little on your wrist and inhaled deeply. “I love it. It’s perfect. Thank you, Arvid.” It quickly became your favorite perfume, one that you wore every day. You thought it was a one-time thing, a thoughtful gesture to mark his first race. But then, he went to Australia.
After his race down under, Arvid handed you a small, soft toy—a kangaroo with your favorite fictional character, Mr. Darcy, embroidered on it. “I saw this and thought of you,” he said, his eyes twinkling with that familiar, loving gaze.
You hugged the kangaroo tight, touched by his thoughtfulness. “He’s adorable. I love him,” you said, holding the toy close. He had made it a tradition, you realized, and it made every race weekend feel special.
In Imola, he brought back a delicate bracelet with a charm shaped like a tiny racing car. “For my lucky charm,” he said with a grin, fastening it around your wrist.
You admired the bracelet, smiling up at him. “It’s beautiful. Thank you, Arvid. I’ll never take it off.”
Monaco was next, and you couldn’t wait to see what he’d found. This time, it was a vintage postcard featuring the famous Monte Carlo Casino, framed beautifully. “I know how much you love history and architecture,” he explained.
The postcard found a special place on your desk, a reminder of his thoughtful nature. “It’s perfect, Arvid. You know me so well,” you said, kissing him softly.
Spain’s race weekend came and went, and Arvid returned with a hand-painted fan. “To keep you cool during the summer,” he teased, waving it gently in front of your face.
You laughed, taking the fan from him. “It’s gorgeous. Thank you, my love. I’ll think of you every time I use it.”
Austria’s gift was a small music box that played a familiar waltz. “Something to dance to when I’m not around,” he said softly, winding it up and letting the melody fill the room.
You closed your eyes and swayed to the music, imagining he was there with you, holding you close. “I’ll dance to this every night until you come home,” you promised.
Silverstone was a special place, the home of British motorsport. After an amazing weekend, Arvid managed to find a piece of the historic track—an old, polished gear from one of the legendary cars that had raced there decades ago, mounted on a wooden plaque. “I thought you’d appreciate a piece of history,” he said, handing it to you.
You ran your fingers over the smooth metal, tears in your eyes. “This is incredible, Arvid. Thank you. It means so much.”
Hungary and Belgium were tough for him. He had terrible race weekends, and you knew he was upset. But still, he brought you gifts. From Hungary, a handwoven scarf. “I know it’s not much,” he said, his voice heavy with disappointment.
You wrapped the scarf around your neck, hugging him tight. “It’s perfect. You’re always thinking of me, even when things are tough. That’s what matters.”
From Belgium, he brought a box of the finest chocolates. “I didn’t want to come back empty-handed,” he admitted, his eyes weary.
You took the box, placing it on the table before pulling him into a tight embrace. “You’re amazing, Arvid. Thank you for always thinking of me.”
Arvid’s gifts weren’t just souvenirs; they were tokens of his love, his way of keeping you close even when he was miles away. Each one was chosen with care, reflecting his understanding of your likes and dislikes. It wasn’t about the gifts themselves but the thought and effort he put into them, showing you that no matter where he was, you were always on his mind.
As the season progressed, your collection of gifts grew, each one a testament to his love and dedication. You cherished them all, not for their material value but for the love they represented. Arvid’s thoughtful gestures made the long distances and time apart more bearable, reminding you that you were always with him, no matter where his racing career took him.
One evening, as you sat together, you looked at the collection of gifts displayed around your home. “You spoil me, you know that?” you said, leaning against him.
He chuckled, wrapping an arm around your shoulders. “I just want you to feel loved, even when I’m not here.”
You looked up at him, your heart swelling with love. “I do. Every single day.”
He kissed your forehead, holding you close. “Good. That’s all I ever wanted.”

Tumblr media
Natasha was pacing around the expanse of the common room, you'd just uttered the words that held the power necessary to break her. There was no denying Natasha and you were in love, but somehow it is all the woman ever did. After every hookup she'd reiterate that you and her were just helping one another manage your stress, but then she'd ask you in a whisper to stay, and you always did, because deep down this relationship meant more to both of you.
The team knew, and they were all actually rooting for you, Tony even called you his OTP. Natasha would roll her eyes, deny the claims, then fuck you so good that night you let it go. This went on for two years, the both of you were basically inseparable; until you were.
—————
This last month you'd mistakenly said it, those three words that she conveyed with a lingering kiss came out of your mouth like word vomit. Everything changed, she stopped answering your texts, switched out from being your mission partner, and even flirted with others on the team to make her point to you crystal clear that this whole shebang wasn't real.
Except it was real, that was the problem, the woman spent her whole life living in fables. Every night a new persona, a new mark to hit, nothing ever stayed the same for long with her. Change was ironically her only constant, so to suddenly have this beautiful, bubbly woman taking the space of the cobwebs in her heart was foreign. Not necessarily unwelcome, but for the time being it felt that way to her, and now her tactics to keep you at arms length worked, but fuck if she wasn't regretting it all now that you were willingly moving on.
Her eyes stung with the tears she'd been holding in since the night you walked out of her room, and she pushed you out of her life. She felt like she couldn't breathe, as if the walls were truly closing in on her, and trapping her in with her pain. As she'd watched you head off to get ready for your date, without even sparing her a glance, she knew she was losing you.
Fear still held her tightly in it's grasp, but you were more than worth the risk of venturing into the unknown, because truth be told she's already fallen, and she didn't take a parachute. Without you there to catch her, she'd likely crash and burn, as she honestly deserved. However, she wasn't one to give up easily; if this was truly her last chance she'd take it, and most importantly she wouldn't squander it.
"What are you waiting for?," Tony snapped at the still woman, and Natasha shook her head to bring herself back to the moment., "Go!," he instructed, then as if she were a mindless robot her legs moved her out of the room, and up many flights of stairs to get to you, arriving just in time as you exited your room in a stride.
The woman was already winded from the trek up, but once she saw you in that dress, you genuinely took her remaining breath away. She'd grown so used to seeing you in your mission suits, and lazy day sweats that she'd forgotten just how good you looked in a full on get up. Not that you were not pretty enough otherwise, because you were, but this specialty look really accentuated your natural beauty.
Natasha was so enamored by said beauty that she narrowly missed her window to stop you. The familiar dinging of the elevator pulled her from her stupor though, and with all the speed in the world she made it through the closing doors before you could safely descend in peace. The redhead cringed at your cold demeanor as she brought her eyes up to look into yours, but with the sudden drop of the machine she was aware she was on borrowed time., "Y/N..."
"Save it Natasha.," the bite in your tone was so out of character for you, it truly shattered her heart to know that she'd hurt you this badly., "Y/N, please..," she was desperate to explain herself, to tell you she was ready to love you how you truly deserved, but the valid anger was rolling right off you as you shouted., "No!"
"I fucking need you to listen to me, please!," Natasha yanked on the emergency button as she saw you staring in relief at the single digit numbers., "Natasha, what the actual fuck?!," she simply shrugged at your angered words, then she swiftly grabbed your outstretched hands, twisting you about until your arms were crossed over your body, and your back was slammed into the elevator wall., "Natasha..."
"Stop being so stubborn Y/N, and let me talk.," she shut your attempted warning down, and in a moment of calm before the storm you nod, far too curious to see where she's going with this elevator ambushing to not., "Thank you."
"I-.," she paused as she finally met your eyes, this is the closest she'd been to you in over a month, and that knowledge nearly causes her to crumble. The woodsy smell of your cologne, her favorite from your vast collection, hits her nostrils and tears brim in her eyes at all the associated memories that come with the scent., "Nat?," you were rightfully furious, but that didn't mean seeing her on the verge of tears didn't hurt you just the same., "What is it?"
"Please, don't go out with them...," her words are hardly even a whisper, but the closeness of her face to yours allows you audibility, and the settled anger brews with a renewed passion., "You can't be fucking serious right now Nat, you have no right to ask such a thing!," it hurt to see her flinch at your unfamiliar tone, but fuck if it didn't also feel good to air it all out.
"You're the one who ended this, actually no, you fucking iced me out like I was nothing to you, I was just a hole for you to fill until it got too fucking real for you.," your harsh words truly upset the redhead, because never in this entire time had she sought out to use you. Sure, she might've recently reacted adversely with all of her baseless flirting with others, but up until she got freaked out, she'd been only yours. She'd never even so much as looked at another person; how could she when you were always stood in the same room for her to gawk at?
Natasha watched with a blank stare as you suddenly made limited hand gestures before continuing on., "This was nothing, now move out of my way.," you attempted to shove her off, but she slammed you back into the cooled metal, causing you to involuntarily huff., "I said listen to me, not to speak out of turn.," you glared at her attempts at dominance, but you reluctantly gave into her as her hold tightened.
"This.," she dropped her hold on your hands to convey your message more clearly, her pointer finger pressing into your chest before her own., "Was far from nothing, and you know that!," she took in another shaky breath, hearing you say what you did really left her feeling broken. The anger you felt was valid, she even knew she deserved to be shamed, but that didn't stop the feelings of insecurity and pain from festering; holding onto her tattered heart without mercy.
"It was stupid, icing you out, but it happened. There's no undoing the past, no one knows that better than me Y/N, but fuck, hearing you talk about your date awoke something within me.," the truth in her gorgeous green eyes was far too overwhelming for you so you dropped her gaze, but she quickly remedied that by lifting your face back up so she could look into your eyes., "I already knew it was love when I couldn't fathom sleeping alone after having the pleasure of your warm body up against mine, and I can't go on another day pretending it's not all that I want or need, because I fucking need you Y/N."
The confession was all you'd ever wanted from her, the truth you'd always felt in her lingering touches, but were never likely going to hear. Finally hearing it though was bittersweet, to have needed some adverse cause to leave her lips made it hard to appreciate the sentiment. It left you at a loss for words, and Natasha even more desperate., "Please...say something."
"I-.," your lip began to tremble, the words you wanted to say hanging in the thick air as you lost all of your resolve. Crying for the first time really since that first night when you initially cried yourself to sleep; being angry was easier, but now, with her looking at you so tenderly, it was all you could do to breakdown before her., "I'm so sorry, I-I—fuck I can't believe I hurt you like this, please forgive me detka, please."
Natasha pulled your trembling body into her own, guiding your face into her neck, and she felt a bit better when you desperately wrapped your arms around her waist to pull her closer., "I'll do anything you need moya lyubov'.," she whispered, placing a shaky kiss to your temple, "I love you more than my access to words can explain, I need you more than Tony needs his Whiskey, or more than Steve needs an enema."
"Natasha, for the love of God.," you groaned at the mental image now flashing in your mind, but the lighthearted tone made her heart calm., "What? You always say he needs to pull the stick out of his pompous ass, I'm agreeing.," you giggled as she offered further explanation, then after a few short moments of that it was back to the tense silence, but she still felt relief as you hadn't shoved her away from you yet.
"Natasha?," she tensed at the use of her full name, but she pulled back slightly to face you, and the daunting symphony of her mistakes., "Yes detka?," you melted into her hands as they held your face so softly, even more so as she used the familiar Russian pet name for you., "What took you so damn long? Why couldn't you love me back then too? Why only now?"
The redhead sighed, but it didn't stop the sound of her heartbeat pounding in her ears., "I've never been good with consistency Y/N/N. All I've ever know was constant change, and how to hurt the people I was meant to love.," hearing her own words led to tears falling as she recalled Yelena, the first person who'd been broken by her selfishness, then she remembers her sisters forgiveness, and this all starts to feel a whole lot less intimidating for her.
"Please, do understand that just because I never said it before, that I've still loved you all along.," her rough thumb brushed away your steady stream of tears, while she continued telling you her truths., "I've needed you from the very beginning, it was an instantaneous feeling, I'd never experienced it before, and it scared me so much that it was now my truth."
"I've never needed anyone before, but when I lost you it was like everything around me was dulled.," her eyes matched her sentiment as you gazed into them, the light all but gone., "The warmth of the sun turned frigid with everyday I woke up without you by my side.," she shivered as if remembering the way it felt., "Coffee became bitter without your laughter filling the kitchen in the morning to sweeten it up as we ate our differing breakfast together.," you instantly smiled, remembering how she ate her boring toast and oatmeal with a black coffee, all while taunting you for using all the creamer in the place, essentially "tainting" the coffee, and your dental health as you usually coupled it with sugary cereals or confections.
"Nothing work's right without you Y/N, I'm bombing all my missions, I am not sleeping much or eating, I am unable to even think about anything else but how I hurt you.," she leaned her forehead to yours., "I'm in love with you, wholeheartedly so, and I will do whatever it takes to win you back Y/N. All I ask is that you don't see her tonight, cancel the date, and accompany me up to the rooftop instead."
Natasha pushed the emergency button back into the slot, falling into you briefly as the machine jolted, and in a moment of weakness both of your lips collided for a short embrace. Once the doors dinged the redhead pulled away from you, making quick steps to get to the exit., "Please consider it, I know I don’t deserve to be forgiven, but I'll be waiting up there until eight just in case Y/N.," and before you could even so much as think, let alone respond, she was gone, much like she'd been all month long.
The doors closed as your body didn't move to leave the elevator, instead you slid down the wall of it while tears fell down your cheeks., "Friday, take me back up to my room please.”
As soon as you entered your safe space you fell into the bed, screaming loudly as you thrashed. On the one hand, your heart only beat for that infuriating woman, but on the other hand you never know if it could beat for another if you had no choice but to move on. Except, you no longer found yourself forced to move on, all you’ve ever wanted was waiting on the rooftop, so you’re not sure why you couldn’t move.
The clock beside your bed read 7:45pm when you finally glanced on over at it, both of your offers for the night expired at 8pm, and so you got off the bed, fixed yourself up at the vanity, and once again entered the elevator, shakily telling Friday to take you to the desired floor.
When you made your way to the common room you saw Darcy looking a little hopeless, and it all faded away when she looked up at your face. A bright smile adorned her face now that you’d arrived, but she failed to see your sad gaze., “I’d thought we were going to miss the movie, but I think we’ll still make it if we leave now.,” her hand reached for yours, but when you were hesitant to grab hers she already knew., “Oh.”
“Darcy, I’m so sorry.,” she gently squeezed your hand while smiling at you., “Hey, don’t do that, I knew what I was up against when I asked you out, and I still tried because you’re worth it.,” she pulled you into her arms for a hug., “I’m just happy to know Romanoff finally figured that out, but don’t make it too easy for her either.,” she pulled away, chuckling along with you., “Wouldn’t dream of it.,” you two shared one more squeezing of your hands before she left out the door, and you made your way to the elevators to see about mending the past.
Natasha sat on the decorated floating bed with her head in her hands, the clock having already surpassed eight about fifteen minutes ago, and her body deflated with each minute that went. Pain began to gnaw at her chest once more, and the sobs she desperately tried to fight off came tumbling passed her trembling lips. It wasn’t anyone else’s fault but her own that you chose the likely safer bet of moving on, still she was cursing the gorgeous scientists name as her body shook so violently that the ding of the elevator went completely unnoticed by her.
Though she’s a spy, she failed to see you at all, so she gasped when two hands adorned with silver rings settled over her thighs, looking up with red eyes, and a torn up lip she saw you. Her hands reached out to ensure you were real, and not just her fucked up mind playing tricks on her, and when you settled your warms hands over her frigid ones she knew it was you., “Y-you came? What about Darcy?”
“Darcy’s amazing—truly, and she’s got never breaking my heart on her side.,” you noted the obvious and the woman bowed her head in shame., “But my God Nat, your touch alone ignites something within me that I don’t think I’ll ever be able to find elsewhere.,” you took her hands off your face, maneuvering them until they were on your hips as you moved to straddle the woman on the floating bed.
“You’re like my soulmate or something Natty, I’d never believed in that kind of thing before this, but now I know it’s not only a fairytale.,” your fingers lifted her face up to meet yours, her emeralds glossed over in pain, but still as beautiful as ever as you gazed right into them., “I love you Natasha, with all my heart.,” her lip caught between her teeth to hold back a sob., “More importantly though, I forgive you.”
Natasha couldn’t bare it, your forgiveness was not deserved, but she was incredibly grateful. Her arms were tight as they wrapped around your waist to keep you close, and she began to whisper that same tired phrase., “I love you.,” over and over again. Increasingly afraid that if she didn’t say it, like all the times before, that you’d leave her alone in her deserved misery.
“Don’t say another word.,” you cut her off with your lips slamming to hers while you pushed her into the mattress., “Show me instead…,” Natasha wasted no time as she flipped you over, pressing you into the firm mattress, your reality soon began to blur as you were made to gaze up at the stars. The woman who owned your heart did as told, using her hands she loved you as she always should’ve, your mind slipping away from you as she never slowed down, you began to see beautiful constellations of your very own making as you closed your eyes, and gave Natasha all of you—for good.

warning(s): graphic depictions of crime scene/dead body - murder - blood and gore - this isn't really a happy fic - I'm not the fondest of writing things that show serial killers in a romanticized way so this...isn't going to end well - people die in this guys - if you do not like blood or anything to do with death do not read this - even though I absolutely love forensics I am in no way an expert and all my info comes from my singular forensic class and all the forensic files I watch - this is fiction plz don't come for my inaccuracies - (reader also does profiles bc why not)
pairing(s): forensic scientist!reader x serial killer!Agatha
prompt: your relationship was picture perfect. you're happy and in love but one crime scene brings your love crashing down around you. (I'm not good at descriptions)
Tumblr media
You knew you would never escape this feeling.
The chills that ran down your spine as you walked through the scene, the only sounds being camera shutters and shuffling footsteps of your team, the way the air was suspended around you, imitating the way you held your breath. You forced your emotions into a box and shoved it to the back of your mind, your eyes turning from sympathetic to analytical, necessary for your job. The only one who noticed the change was your Crime Scene Photographer, Darcy. She pursed her lips at you, tilting her head towards the bedroom, acknowledging your shift into your role of head CSI.
This scene was different than the others, you immediately noticed as you crossed the bedroom threshold. Blood took over the wallpaper, staining the costly vintage pattern. The body lay face down on the bed, stab marks on the back, mostly shallow and jagged, indicating a struggle had occurred. Your thoughts were proven as your eyes scanned over the blood spatter. This victim fought back, causing a fight your killer hadn't anticipated.
She was the tenth one this month, the bodies being found more and more frequently, the killer getting more confident.
"Y/N."
Your name sounded behind you, making you turn around. Lead Detective Jimmy Woo stood with a grimace on his face, eyes expectant. You nodded as you brought him over to the side of the bed, where you could see the wounds better.
"This one is different, Jim. The scene is a mess, the body mutilated and uncharacteristically stabbed, not to mention the lack of sophistication."
You turned from the bed and walked over to a pile of cleaning supplies, crouching down and cocking your head to the side. Your eyes widened when you noticed what had caught your eye. Pulling out your tweezers from your toolkit hanging by your side, you called out to Jimmy, asking for an evidence bag. As he handed it to you, he asked an important question.
"Then how can we be sure it's the same killer."
Without hesitating you answered.
"The victim fits the profile. A woman in her early to mid 50s, lives alone, estranged from family," you nodded your head to the dusty photographs on the dresser, now decorated by dried drops of blood, "and the cleaning supplies, the same ones we know for a fact were used at the other scenes."
As you bagged the strand of hair, your mind thought back to the other crime scenes. The bodies of the victims lying in bed, dead for days or weeks at the longest, the rooms cleaned meticulously, the only mess being the crusty blood stains from the single slit mark on the women's neck. You thought that those scenes were the worst, but now as you looked around, you knew you hadn't seen the worst of humanity yet.
Handing Jimmy the evidence bag, which he passed on to the officers on the scene, you stood up.
"Forensics is done here, all pictures taken, swabs done, and now all evidence is bagged. Help me roll the body over."
Your plastic gloves were already soaked with blood as you and Jimmy rolled the victim onto her back. Jimmy choked on what he saw. You merely sighed. The slit on the victims neck was jagged but shallow. The scene played out in your head. The killer did the normal business of coming from behind with the knife, but this one struggled, making the cut not deep enough to kill. The killer pushed the woman onto the bed, trying to suffocate her with the pillow but she kept struggling. Finally, the killer resorted to stabbing the woman until the act was finished, even some post-mortem. Then, instead of having time to clean the scene and position the body, something unexpected happened. Someone visited the victim, the young next door neighbor who felt sorry for the elderly woman who never saw her family. The killer had to rush out the back, leaving countless pieces of evidence behind and ruining weeks of planning.
"Let's get her in a bag, make sure to contact the family and ask for her will and wishes upon her death."
---------------------------------------------------------------------------
On the drive back to the station and your team's lab, you allowed yourself a moment to text your wife.
You: Hey hon, I don't think I'll make it for dinner. I might stay the night.
You let yourself slip information, a breach of protocol but you trusted Agatha.
We finally have enough to catch this bastard.
---------------------------------------------------------------------------
The sounds of reporters never stopped as the hours passed, your team logging and entering every piece of evidence from this scene and past. You ran every single strand of DNA evidence you had through every database you had legal access to. Monica Rambeau, your secret weapon when it came to, well, weapons, made multiple 3D replicas of the suspects height and body weight, using the angles of the blood spatter and the stab wounds. You and your team had discovered a separate blood profile in the mix, a break that had you desperate for a culprit. Now you sat in front of the equipment in your lab, the rest of your team resting while evidence was being processed and while the detective went over profiles and case reports, looking for details they might've missed.
You kept yourself from drifting into sleep by scrolling on your phone. When you opened your messages, your brow scrunched together. Agatha hadn't responded to your text, leaving it delivered. Frowning, you started typing but realizing the time, you thought she would be sleeping. Maybe you missing dinner tonight had struck a nerve with your wife. Sighing, you slumped in your chair, practicing your apology in your head. You knew it wasn't common of you to miss dinner, so maybe she had something special planned for tonight, even if it was nowhere near one of your birthdays or an anniversary. But that didn't mean anything, maybe it was a surprise date night. You were so lost in your worry, you almost didn't hear the ping from your computer indicating a match. You read the results, a hint of surprise at the determined sex of the killer. You started to type some notes in an email for Jimmy when your computer indicated it had found an 94% DNA match in a database. You paused, your hands still hovering over your keyboard as the killer's picture came up on your screen.
Time suspended around you, suffocating you as your vision tunneled. The buzzing of your phone broke you out of your stupor and with shaking hands you opened the message from your wife.
aggie❤️: no worries about dinner love, how's the case going?
Your eyes flickered from the text to the picture on your screen, your wife's cold blue eyes staring into your soul. You hesitated before you answered.
You: not well. everything came up a dead end, ig it's back to square one.
You put your phone face down on your desk, quickly exiting out of the page, your wife's picture replaced with your background. Which did nothing to sooth your rapidly panicking state, as it was your wedding photo. You slammed the power button, relief flooding your body at the black screen. With shaky hands, you cradled your head.
This can not be happening. You thought, pinching your arms, desperate to wake up from this vivid nightmare.
This
Can
Not
Be
Happening.
Your phone buzzed with your wife's reply and you read it through blurry vision.
aggie❤️: im sorry to hear that hon. text me when you're on your way home <3
Normally, the heart as the end of the text would send butterflies ablaze in your stomach but now all it did was sending waves of nausea coursing through you. Were there signs you missed? Something you overlooked through the haze of being in love?
Were all these women dead because you were too blind to see what was in front of you the whole time?
You stood up suddenly, your chair crashing behind you. Darcy rushed in, concern lacing her actions.
"Y/N, are you-"
"I have a migraine. Staring at a screen for too long and all that." You cut her off, even giving a slight chuckle at the end to play it off. Darcy still looked concerned but let you gather your things and walk out of the lab.
"If anything comes up, I'll call you!" she called out, not knowing her words caused your stomach to hardened.
As you went to walk out of the station, you noticed Jimmy had recklessly left his gun and holster on his desk.
You walked out of the station, pulling your jacket tight against your body as you got into your car.
No one had noticed Jimmy's gun was no longer on his desk.

UNEXPECTED LOVE
dilf!harry x reader word count: 3.5k warnings: age gap reader 20, harry 38
Y/n favorite time of year was summer. Spending the whole summer at her best friend’s house since she was 5 was nothing new, but this year Darcy asked her if she wanted to go her family vacation this summer since they couldn’t take it during spring break. Of course, y/n said yes, so here she is packing her stuff to go to Baía do Sancho in Brazil.
The past week she spent packing the essentials and a lot of bathing suits. The day had finally come to get on the plane y/n arrived to the style's residence early that morning, walking in to find a very stressed harry talking to Dracy making sure she had everything because he doesn’t want to have to buy another bathing suit while on the trip, Y/n knew that was a lie. Harry loved to spoil Darcy more than anything in the world, y/n thinks he does it to make up for the fact her mother left when she was so young but she doesn’t know if that’s true or not. y/n closes the door behind her and puts her stuff in front of the door
“Hey guys, need any help?” Harry turned to face her, his face look more concerned than she thought, was he like this every time they went on vacation? The moment his face meets hers he looked sort of relieved?
“Oh y/n thank God I was scared you wouldn’t make it before it was time to go, but know that you’re here can you tell your lovely and amazing best friend that she needs to double check and make sure she has everything so I can mark her off as done on my list” Y/n chuckles a little and looks over at Darcy who is on the couch scrolling through her phone. Y/n jumped onto the couch right beside Darcy and took her phone.
“Hey! I was doing something” Darcy yells throwing her head back like a toddler, Darcy was a great friend most of the time, but when it came to boys and social media, no matter how long you have known her you don’t stand a chance.
“I will give you your phone back after we go through your stuff, okay? I'll even help you make it go by faster” With a mischievous glint in her eyes, Y/n playfully slipped Darcy's phone into her pocket, knowing it would keep her friend focused on the task at hand. Darcy dramatically let out a groan, falling off the couch as dramatically as she could before stomping over to her suitcase and bags to begin the search. Y/n followed her, trying to stop the laugh that was threating to escape her lips as she watched Darcy's determined expression.
While Darcy and y/n went through the check list Harry was going up and down the stairs bring what looked like his whole house along with this trip, y/n didn’t really understand why but she also didn’t have as much money as the styles family so she understood.
“Okay everything is checked on the list!” Darcy said with a smile her hand out signaling she wanted her phone back Y/n rolled her eyes but gave it back to her anyways
“Harry Darcy is done” Y/n called out, assuming he was upstairs since she couldn't remember where she last saw him go. However, as she turned around, she felt a presence behind her. She looked up and realized Harry was standing right there, his expression reflecting a mix of relief and satisfaction.
“Okay good we can put stuff in the car and then we will be ready to go” Harry holds out his hand to help y/n up from her place on the floor, she mumbles a thank you and grabs her stuff to put in car, ready for vacation to start.
***
When they arrive at the airport Harry is telling Darcy how she needs to act inside, y/n hasn’t ever traveled with the styles family before but by the look on Darcy and Harry’s face this happens every time.  Y/n kept to herself most of the time walking through the TSA until it was time to go through the metal detector. y/n knew she didn’t have anything that would get her in any trouble but she always got nervous going through it. She stands there for a minute when she feels a hand on her back, it’s Harry.Y/n turned to face him, finding comfort in his presence.
"Hey, it's just a routine security check," he said with a warm smile. A smile that y/n always made her feel warm inside.
"You'll be fine. Take a deep breath and walk through confidently." y/n nods, Harry gives her shoulder a squeeze before she walked through. Just like she thought, nothing would happen. Then Darcy came through, then Harry. Once they settled their bags in a chair, Darcy's hunger took over her attention. She turned to Y/n, a pleading expression on her face.
"Y/n, do you want to go get a snack from the snack shop, dude, over there? I'm starving, and if I don't eat, I will die!" Darcy exclaimed dramatically. Y/n smiled and was about to reach for her wallet in her bag when Darcy stopped her.
"No need for that, babe. Daddy will pay for it, right, daddy?" Darcy turned to face Harry; her eyes expectant. Y/n looked up, meeting Harry's gaze. It wasn't the first time Darcy had insisted that Harry pay for her and Y/n whenever they hung out. However, Y/n had always made it clear to Harry that she wouldn't let him cover her costs, but Darcy was unaware of this arrangement.
“Yes of course, here you go sweetheart” he gives Darcy his credit card and she starts to jump up and down. Darcy thanks him and gives him a kiss on the cheek. Harry mouths y/n a ‘I’m sorry’ but she just shrugs, she will pay him in cash later.
“Okay, you can go first what do you want” Darcy turns to y/n as she waves Harry’s card around in her face to show she can get whatever she wants.
“Um, I'll just get a bag of chips” Darcy rolls her eyes
“Okay, I guess I'll order for you too, can we get two bags of chips, two small cookie cakes and waters” Darcy turns to y/n and smiles. After they pay, y/n made a mental note of how much she owed Harry for all that Darcy ordered for her. They sat in those small little chairs for what felt like forever, mainly because Darcy would complain every 10 minutes saying she was bored.
“But daddy I want to do something” whining, falling out of her chair onto the ground y/n sat on the ground with her trying to give Harry a break from Darcy constantly wanting attention
“So, Darcy how are you and that boy you were talking to last week” y/n asked trying to get Darcy’s mind from the boredom at the question Darcy’s head shot up
"Y/n! My dad is right here," Darcy protested, her tone filled with a mixture of embarrassment and concern. Y/n knew that Harry was always supportive and open-minded about Darcy's relationships. However, Darcy couldn't help but feel a tinge of guilt discussing her romantic interests in front of her dad, knowing that he was no longer in a relationship himself.
“Darc, he’s not even listening to us I mean look” her and Darcy turn to look at harry who is reading a book and looks like he is very confused on what's happening in it, y/n turn to look back at Darcy, smirk on her face. Darcy sighs but she is smiling.
"Well, there is this guy I've been talking to. He's really sweet and funny. We've been getting to know each other, and I kind of like him," she admitted, a hint of excitement in her voice. y/n nods hugging Darcy’s side.
Just then there was an announcement for them to board their plane, Darcy and y/n look at each other and start to giggle excitement oozing out of them.
“Alright girls let’s go,” Harry grabbed his and Darcy’s stuff and headed towards the plane y/n looked down at their ticket and then looked at Darcy’s
“Um Darc, I don’t really want the middle seat it kind of stresses me out do you want to trade” y/n’s voice was quiet, she never asked much out of Darcy, she want Darcy think she was using her for the money.
“Sorry babe I need the aisle seat to be closer to the bathroom you can ask daddy to trade though he probably will” Darcy smiled, Y/n nodded, appreciating Darcy's understanding. Deep down, she didn't want to burden Harry. Not because he was imitating or anything but because he was a rich hot guy who happened to be her best friend's dad. Approaching Harry, Y/n hesitated for a moment.
 "Harry, would you mind trading seats with me? The middle seat makes me a bit anxious." Harry turned to looked at Y/n, he looked shocked for some reason maybe because of how shy y/n got suddenly.
"Of course, Y/n. It's not a problem at all. I want you to feel comfortable. Let's switch seats," he responded with a reassuring smile. There they were again that feeling in y/n’s stomach, is she really getting butterflies?
 Now she is sitting exactly where she likes, the window seat, it gave her the perfect vantage point to look out the window and enjoy the scenic views without any interruptions. It was her sanctuary on the plane, without the inconvenience of people climbing over her if they needed to use the bathroom.
“Thank you, Harry,” Harry looks at her and puts his hand over hers and smiles
“of course, y/n you are the guest on this trip after all” he says with a small laugh escaping. y/n knew the flight was going to be long and she was going to get tired Darcy on the other side of Harry had been passed out for a long time, but y/n couldn’t seem to get comfortable. Shes always had a problem going to sleep, so trying to sleep on a plane made it even harder.
“You okay Y/n? You seem like you can’t sleep”
“Yeah, I've always had trouble sleeping and so this isn’t the easiest thing for me right now, not to mention I can’t get comfortable” y/n starts shifting again proving her point even more. Harry nods, he must know how she feels because he also has been up and fight sleep the whole time as well
“Well if you need a person to lean on you can lean on me” Harry says hinting that it might help go to sleep if she was cuddled into Harry's side. The butterflies are back she knew they were. She slowly puts her head on his shoulder and then slowly gets adjusted into his side feeling her eyes get heavier and heavier till she eventually falls asleep with Harry’s heart beat putting her there.
Once the plane landed and they all got their luggage they headed to an uber to take them to their hotel, y/n and Harry never talked about what had happened on the plane and Darcy didn’t even see them on the plane but y/n was still worried about what Darcy would say if she did know the emotion that sparked between them last night one the plane.
They finally arrive at the hotel y/n was shocked when she opened the room there was a living room, kitchen and 3 bedroom that were all master bedrooms. Rich people are crazy.
“Alright girls, pick which rooms you want and then I'll take the other one” Harry says while dropping his stuff in the living room smile plastered on his face, Darcy runs room to room seeing which one was the biggest.
“Daddy, I want this one” she yells from a room looking out to hint she wanted Harry to bring her stuff over to her. Y/n walks over to the 2 remaining rooms looking at which one had the best sea view to it she smiled and picked up her stuff and put it on the bed.
“Picking the one with the best view I see, I'm jealous” Y/n turns around to see harry leaning on the door frame.
“You can have it if you want, I mean you did pay for all of this I want you to enjoy your trip as well” y/n rambles and Harry pushes himself off the door frame and walks up to y/n
“No, you're okay, you enjoy this room, you do know I want what Is best for you, I care about you” he puts his hands on her shoulder rubbing his soft thumb over her skin, making her breath get caught in her throat.
“I know, it’s just I-” he puts his finger on her lips hinting for her to not go a ramble and she looks up meet his eyes, the look in his eyes is new, something she has never seen from him before but from others. The look of want, like he needs to be right here doing what he is doing right now, like his life depended on it.
“Harry-” Y/n starts and Harry nods, he knew what she was going to say
“i know, but y/n, it’s so hard not to want you” he says his face inching closer to hers their lips about to touch when
“Daddy! Can me and y/n go down to the pool, I need to start working on my tan” Harry and y/n jump away from each other so fast that y/n could have gotten whip lash.
“Yeah, that’s fine just don’t stay too long I want to go somewhere nice dinner” Darcy smiled and gave y/n a look telling her to get dressed and hurry up, y/n goes to her suitcase and grabs one of her bathing suits and heads to the bathroom and puts it on. She looks at herself in the mirror, hands wrapped around herself, she didn’t want to walk out knowing Harry was on the other side of the door and was going to see her half naked after the interaction they just had.
She wasn’t the most confident in herself but if she took any longer Darcy would throw a tantrum like a toddler, so she walks out of the bathroom and she is met with Darcy holding a towel for her, y/n mumbles a thanks She wrapped the towel around herself, finding comfort in it, being able to cover her body. As they leave the hotel room y/n looks back making eye contact with harry, he sends her a small smile when she closes the door.
“Come on y/n get in, the water feels good” Darcy splashes a little water on y/n who is sitting on the edge her feet in the water.
“Fine you are such a whiny baby Darc” she says as she slips in the water and Darcy goes up and drags her more into the pool laughing at what y/n had said know her playful tone.
“Come on you love it, so my goal for you this vacation trip is to find you a hot guy, 10 extra points if he has a hot accent” Darcy says smirk on her face as she swam up to y/n. the smile on y/n’s face started to fade at what Darcy was saying, y/n had her eye on one person but she could never have him and it was Harry but she couldn’t tell Darcy that. She wanted to tell Darcy the truth, to tell her best friend about the emotions that had been swirling inside her. But fear held her back. fear of losing one of her oldest and only friends, and fear of how Darcy might react.
“You know Darc I don’t I want to find a guy just to never see him again you know” y/n trying to make up an excuse for Darcy not to play matchmaker.
“Oh babe, I'm not talking relationship, I think you need to get laid” she laughs and y/n stiffened there was no way she could escape this, she needed a big white lie to get out of this
“I think I need to work on myself this trip, you know” y/n smiled but Darcy frowned
“Fine, let me know if you change your mind, I have my eye on few guys already” Darcy said with a smile. About an hour later they go back up to their room to shower and get ready for dinner. y/n had just stepped out of the shower and wrapped herself in a towel when she heard a knock at the door, she was confused, Darcy takes forever in the shower, but she also loves y/n shampoo so might be coming to grab it. But to her surprise it wasn’t Darcy but Harry, Y/n tightened her grip around her towel
“H-Harry, what are you doing” she couldn’t make eye contact with him she was scared to see the judgement on his face as he judged her body. Harry noticed her tension nodded
“I'm sorry I don’t mean to bother I was just wondering if you had any preferences of where you wanted to go to dinner?”
“Oh, no Harry I don't care whatever you pick will be fine by me” Harry nods his eyes traveling up and down her body but y/n didn’t notice as she was still looking at the ground
“How about you get dressed and come and take a walk with me on the beach while Darcy gets ready, she already told me she won’t be ready for another hour and a half” Harry rolls his eyes at that, knowing how long Darcy takes in the shower and taking forever getting out and getting ready.
Once y/n is ready she walks out of the bathroom and heads to the living room where Harry was, she coughed to get his attention from his spot on the couch
“Oh, wow, that dress looks great on you” he said standing up looking at her, she was wearing a yellow sundress, simple, but effective.
“Thank you, Harry, ready?” He nods and heads to the counter in the kitchen to grab his wallet one thing she has learned about him, he always has to bring his wallet where ever he goes. The walk to the beach was quite bit not in a bad way, in y/n opinion she thought it was nice. Until Harry clears his throat causing her to look at him.
“y/n I think we need to talk” y/n doesn’t say anything she just nods.
“About what happened earlier, when we...” he trailed off as y/n started to change the way she was walking less confidently and kind of scared. Harry stops and grabs y/n’s hand causing her to also stop and look at him.
“Look, you are a great friend to my daughter and you are so nice to me, I can’t let how I feel about you ruin your friendship with my daughter” the whole time Harry is saying this y/n is looking at Harry straight in the eye absorbing each word
“She doesn’t have to know, Harry it can just be me and you against the world okay, I think I'm really falling for you and when we almost kissed earlier, I felt something I don’t know what the feeling was but I have never felt it before” Harry grabs her hand and kisses it shaking his head, hint to y/n that there is nothing that they can do. The thought of never getting to love someone the way she is starting to love Harry, y/n starts to get upset.
y/n shakes her head and kisses Harry, it was desperate like she was hungry for it. Harry on the hand was still in shock by y/n boldness, but soon he puts his hands on her waist giving into her. After a while they both pull away.
“I want you, she doesn’t have to know, ok, I need someone who knows how to treat a woman, every guy I have ever been with doesn’t know, but you, you do I know you do, hell you have treated me so well since I was 5 years old, please Harry” y/n sounded desperate, but she sound like she wanted Harry to prove that she is a lovable girl, like before him she felt like no one would ever love her.
“no one can know, we can’t do anything risky okay? If Darcy finds out she will hate you and I know you don’t want to lose her” another reason y/n loved Harry, he put her needs before his own, y/n nods
“we’ll talk about this later okay, we need to start heading back, Darcy probably close to being ready” he grabs y/n’s hand and they walk back to the hotel hand in hand, a slight smile on y/n’s face. This trip was definitely going to change her life.

Chapter 18- I promise
^^3rd Person P.O.V^^^
8 minutes....
8 minutes was all it took for Randy to get to the hospital..
Randy didnt care if he broke the speed limit, he didnt care... He just wanted to get to her..
She was all that was on his mind as he gripped the steering wheel to his old car.
Randy had never felt so worried about someone other then his parents. Yet, with her, he felt so scared that the twisted fucker that did that to her would find her again.
Randy pushed down on the gas petal a little more as he kept his eyes fixated on the road. He went over the speed limit by 5.
Soon, Randy saw the eerie looking hospital looming in the distance.
He slowed down slightly as he pulled into the hospital parking lot and quickly parked his car.
Randy yanked the seatbelt out of its buckle and quickly opened the door and stumbled out of the car.
He slammed the door shut and ran to the hospital doors.
Randy busted into the hospital, looking like a mess, but he didn't care that his hair was a mess and he didn't care that his shirt looked like it was on backwards.
"Um... Can i help you sir?" A confused voice called out, echoing in the empty lobby.
Randy jumped slightly before looking behind him, seeing a nurse looking at him.
The lady raised one of her eyebrows as she clutched her clipbored tightly.
"Um.. Yeah im here to see Y/n L/n" Randy said, frantically scratching the back of his neck.
"Visitation hours are over young man" the nurse said with a cocky tone.
"Ma'am please.. She just went through a tragic accident and... She called me crying, wanting me with her" Randy protested.
The nurse rolled her eyes. "Im sorry sir" "no no!please just let me see her, shes scared out of her mind" Randy said, remebering how scared Y/n sounded over the phone.
"What ever, go, i dont care my shifts over anyway, at least you breaking the rules will be on Darcy and not me" the nurse said throwing her hands up slightly before walking off.
Randy didnt say anything as he turned on his heels and started power walking down the halls.
He took lefts and rights, counting down all the doors till he made it to Y/ns.
Randy didn't bother to knock, he just slowly pushed the door open. "Y/n" Randy called out in a gentle whisper.
Y/n lifted her head up and looked at Randy.
Randy felt his heart break as he saw her...she looked rough... But it was what he expected..
"Randy" Y/n choked out as she stood up on shakey legs.
Pain rushed through her and she fell back down onto the thin mattress of the hospital bed.
Randy quickly made his way to her side.
Y/n looked at Randy as she took in deep breaths.
"Im here. No one will hurt you." Randy whispered in a soothing voice as he ran his fingers through her dirty hair.
Y/n looked into Randy's eyes, feeling herself calm down the longer she looked at him.
"Im sorry" she muttered.
Randys brows knitted togeather as he pushed her hair out from infront of her eyes.
"Why?" He asked. "I woke you up just because...im scared.." y/n said, looking away from him.
"Hey. Listen, id walk across just to be here with you when you needed me" Randy said, letting a soft smile grace his features
Y/n slowly pulled her legs up slightly, feeling a pulsating pain flood through her hip.
Y/n sucked air in through her teeth as her face contorted with pain.
"Dont move to much" Randy said. (Stating the obvious Randy my boi)
"I... I was moving so you could sit with me" Y/n whispered.
"Oh". And at that, Randy slowly sat down beside Y/n.
Minutes passed, and neither of the two teenagers said a word.
"Im scared Randy.." Y/n said, her voice barely above a whisper.
"Im scared they will find me...." She said, seeing those foul memories play through her mind.
"Dont be, ill protect you" he wrapped his arm around her waist, slowly moving closer to her.
"Promise?" "Promise"
Randy leanded down slightly and placed a tender kiss on Y/ns forehead, being mindful of the bandaged cuts on her face.
Y/n leaned her head on Randy's shoulder. Maybe, just maybe she could trust Randy. Maybe he would protect her.
"Randy?"
"Hm?"
"Can you stay here with me tonight?"
Randy wasn't surprised when those words left Y/ns lips.
All Randy did was nod to her....
~~~~Small time skip because its 10:36 for meee~~~~
Randy soon found himself laying beside Y/n, who was already fast asleep, in the small bed.
Randy looked down at Y/n, watching her chest gently rise and fall as she took in short breaths.
Randy slowly wrapped his arms around her torso and slowly pulled her close to him, trying not to wake her or hurt her even more.
Randy kissed Y/ns cheek as he held her.
No noise filled the room other then the faint beeping of the heart monitors in the other rooms and the sound of heels clanking on the tiles outside.
It was almost peaceful to Randy.
Randy wished he was holding Y/n on her bed rather then in a hospital bed that was barley big enough to fit the two.
He grabbed the thin blanket they covered Y/n from her hips down and slowly pulled it up, allowing the blanket to come up just slightly past her elbows.
"I promise ill protect you. You won't get hurt as long as im around, and that, my darling, is a promise that I will keep"
my love for you is infinite - part7
Santiago Garcia x afab!reader(Darcy)
note: pride and prejudice (2005) but with triple frontier boys because why not lol
word count: 844
part6 - part8 - masterlist
The Bennets eat in silence. Francisco yawns. Mrs. Bennet is complaining she is hungover. Mr. Collins comes in, in a state of agitation. They look at him. He sits, hesitates, then asks
“Mrs. Bennet - I was hoping, if it would not trouble you, that I might solicit a private audience with Mr. Santiago in the course of the morning.”
Santiago’s jaw droppes.
“ Oh! Yes. Certainly - Santiago would be very happy indeed. Everyone. Out. Mr. Collins would like a private audience with your brother.”
Everyone looks in amazement.
“Wait. I beg you. Mr. Collins can have nothing to say to me that anybody need not hear.”
Mrs. Bennet interferes “No. Nonsense, Santi. I desire you will stay where you are. Everyone else, to the drawing room. Mr. Bennet.”
“But...”
“Now!”
Mrs. Bennet whooshes everyone out, winks at Mr. Collins then shuts the door before Santiago has time to do anything. Santiago looks at Mr. Collins who looks at his earnestly. There is a horrible pause of intense embarrassment.
“Dear Mr. Santiago Garcia, I am sure my attentions have been too marked to be mistaken. Almost as soon as I entered the house, I singled you out as the companion of my future life.”
Santiago stares at him, astonished.
“But before I am run away with my feelings perhaps I may state my reasons for marrying. Firstly, that it is the duty of a clergyman to set the example of matrimony in his parish. Secondly, that I am convinced it will add greatly to my happiness, and, thirdly, that it is at the urging of my esteemed patroness Lady Catherine that I select a partner.”
We hear a kick and William screech from behind the door.
“Sshhh.”
“My object in coming to Longbourn was to choose such a one from Mr. Bennet's sons, for I am to inherit the estate and such an alliance will surely suit everyone. (drops to his knee) And now nothing remains for me but to assure you in the most animated language of the violence of my affections.”
“Mr. Collins-“
“And that no reproach on the subject of fortune will cross my lips once we are married.”
“You are too hasty, sir! You forget that I have made no answer.”
“Must add, that Lady Catherine will thoroughly approve, when I speak to her of your modesty, economy and other amiable qualities.”
“Sir, I am honoured by your proposal, but regret I must decline it.”
“…I know some people don't seek to seem too eager.”
“Mr. Collins, I am perfectly serious. You could not make happy and I'm convinced I'm the last person in the world who could make you happy.”
“I flatter myself, cousin, that your refusal is merely a natural delicacy. And as it is by no means certain that another offer of marriage may ever be made to you.”
“Mr. Collins –“
“I must conclude that you simply seek to increase my love by suspense, according to the usual practice.”
“Sir! I am not the sort of person to torment a respectable man. Please understand me - I cannot accept you!”
Santiago storms out of the room and out of the house. Mrs. Bennet crashes in through another door, hot on the tail of Santiago.
“Oh headstrong, foolish child
“Head strong?
“- don't worry Mr. Collins, we shall have this little hiccup dealt with immediately.”
Mrs. Bennet goes after Santiago. Mr. Collins watches through a window as Santiago is pursued by his mother.
Mrs. Bennet marches into the library. Mr. Bennet looks up in shock.
“Oh Mr. Bennet. We are all in an uproar. You must come and make Santiago marry Mr. Collins, for he vows he will not have him.”
Mr. Bennet stares at Mrs. Bennet blankly.
“Mr. Collins has proposed to Santiago. But Santiago declares he will not have him, and now the danger is Mr. Collins may not have Santiago.”
“And what am I to do?”
Mrs. Bennet drags Mr. Bennet to his feet.
“Speak to Santiago.”
They march to find Santiago, passing Mr. Collins in the dining room.
Mr. Bennet and Mrs. Bennet confront Santiago, who has been waiting in the drawing room. Perhaps the other girls form an audience from the stairs, Mr. Collins looks on sheepishly from the breakfast room.
“Tell him that you insist upon them marrying.”
“Papa, please -!”
“You will have this house!”
“I can't marry him!”
“You’ll save your brothers from destitution!”
“I can't!”
“Go back now and say you've changed your mind!”
“No!”
“Think of your family!””
“You can’t make me!”
“Mr. Bennet, say something!”
“So, your mother insists on you marrying Mr. Collins.”
“Yes, or I shall never see him again!”
“Well Santiago. From this day on 'you must be a stranger to one of your parents.”
“- who will maintain you when your father is dead?”
“Your mother will never see you again if you do not marry Mr Collins, and I will never see you again if you do.”
“Mr. Bennet!”
“Thank you, papa.”
Santiago turns around and walks into the hall.
The Feral Princess - Part 5
Marvel AU
Pairing: Stucky x Reader
Theme: Soulmate AU / Medieval / Fantasy / Soulmate Marks
Tumblr media
Summary: Bucky and Steve have known they were soulmates since they were children. Fate bringing a then sickly Steve and the future King together. War takes them apart and throws them back together over and over, in and out of each other lives, arms and beds. But something is missing and throughout, they know they are missing their third and final piece. The kingdom is now Bucky's and Steve's, the latter now a leader and no longer a sickly child. Both are war heroes, with the respect of their country and those that surround it. They are a force to be reconned with, admired and respected within the other royal houses. They could have any maiden or princess they wanted, but they don't want just anyone. They want their soulmate. They want their princess. Even if she is known as The Feral Princess.
Chapter Summary: Bucky learns more about the reader.
Chapter Warning: Mentions of stillbirth, death in childbirth, scars and burns
“First things first James, if you ever wander into my lands unannounced I will disrespect The Accords just as you have done and I’ll feed you to the dragons. Think yourself lucky I haven’t done so already. Be assured James that I knew the moment you set foot in Lionheart, just as I did when your Lord Wilson paid us a visit. The only reason I haven’t killed you already is because she asked me not to.”
“She?” Bucky said with a smirk.
“Don’t look so damn happy about it, it’s only so she can kill you herself. Your mother would be damn disappointed by your lack of manners and respect.”
“Do not talk of my mother, you barely knew her.”
“But I did, just as I knew you as a child. Just as she knew Tulip.”
“What?”
“My wife, my soulmate, she was my world you know?” Richard said pouring them both a goblet of wine. “Do not worry, it’s not poisoned. Just don’t ever drink anything Lady Darcy gives you.”
“Lady Darcy?”
“One of Tulips ladies.”
Bucky nodded.
“My soulmate, my dearest Queen. Her and your mother would write on occasion. I was at your father’s coronation, and your mother’s when they wed, just like they were at ours. She came to my wife’s funeral you know?”
“I remember. Father didn’t want her going, there was so much unrest. The kingdoms were worried of what you’d do, if you’d break the treaty.”
“Oh yes the rumours. Rumlow did try to kill my wife, that part is true but that’s as far as it goes. He only got as far as the gates and do you know why?”
“Your men stopped him.”
“Whose command do you think they were under? I wasn’t here, it was during the siege at Ultron.”
“The Queen’s?”
Richard sipped his wine before answering.
“You would think so, but she was already laying in by then. Strict orders from the doctor, after the first, well, the first he was born sleeping and never woke.”
“I’m sorry to hear that Richard, truly I am.”
“We were blessed in the end, the birth though that was hard, but I am thankful she went in my arms and not at Rumlow’s hand. A matter of days and I’d have been here. I’d have killed him well before you and your Steven had the chance. I was an idiot back then, plenty will tell you I still am. Your father and I were so caught up in the fight at Ultron I took more of my men then I should have, left a dozen here, with the Royal Guard. Don’t get me wrong the Guard could wield a sword but they weren’t like my soldiers,  not then. They weren’t like they are now.”
Bucky wasn’t sure where this history lesson was going or if the whole conversation was to accompany the lines of troops outside as a show of force, and he took a sip of wine to stop himself saying anything he shouldn’t.
“It was Tulip that knew something was wrong. One of the villagers came to the gates, told the guards they were a few new faces in the village but they brushed it off. Tulip, well, she’s always been one for running off, it’s one of the reasons you won’t find her here.”
“I suspected she was gone, the villagers said as much.”
“Well, she slipped out that day, nosy little flower that she is and sure enough she spotted three of them trying to buy supplies. My people, they know not to aid or assist those of Hydra, they threatened them, Tulip was annoyed and she followed them back to where they were hiding. How do you think he got those burns? Those scars?”
Bucky shrugged.
“There have been many rumours, I’m not sure if anyone truly knows.”
“Ask Tulip, when you find her, ask her.”
Could you have had a hand in Rumlow’s near death? Bucky’s brow furrowed. He wasn’t sure of your age but even so you would have been a teenager. Sixteen if that.
“Tulip protected the Queen and our kingdom that day. Rumlow had all intention of killing my wife, the child in her belly, and burning everyone and everything in his path and out of it too. She will always protect everyone and everything she loves until her dying day. Do you know why? Do you know why we call her Tulip?”
Bucky shook his head.
“Well drink up lad. You’ll need it for what I’m about to tell you.”
An hour later Bucky and Richard walked back out to the court yard. Natasha and the knights in the same place he had left them. The yard still eerily quiet.
“Remember what I said James.”
Bucky nodded and the two embraced. Natasha held in a sigh of relief.
“And good luck, you’ll need it.”
Richard called for them to be given supplies and half a dozen stable boys and kitchen maids appeared from nowhere, handing each of them two small sacks of supplies, one for them and one for their horses, as hellos and thank yous were exchanged.
“Thank you Richard. For your time and for your words.” Bucky said as he climbed his horse.
They nodded at each other. Richard gave an order for them to be escorted to the North Road as Bucky and the others turned back towards the gates. Two dozen men stepped from the lines and surrounded them. The Knight at the front let out a whistle and the gates opened. It didn’t go unnoticed by Bucky that the archers were still pointing arrows at them as they left. As the second gates opened they discovered where the rest of Lionheart’s army were.
A mix of soldiers and Knights lined the way from the gates for as far as the eye could see. Armed, in Lionheart colours and on horseback and all ready for a fight. Each horse had a green ribbon tied around its bridle. A green that happened to be Loxley green and a clear show of their allegiance to you.
As they had rode through the gates the foot soldiers accompanying them switched with those on horseback and they were quickly marched back to the North Road. Bucky glanced back at the castle as they left. Richard was now watching them from one for the towers as a dragon circled above it. Another show of force.
Bucky couldn’t help but think about what Richard had told him. The sick feeling that he felt in his stomach wasn’t just from the wine. He wasn’t sure why Richard had told him what he had. To put him off? So he knew what he was getting into? Or to explain why you are the way you are? Bucky knew one thing though. He would make sure that nobody hurt you again.
“Natalia, poslat' za karatelem.”
(Natasha, send for The Punisher.)
Fancy a cuppa? My Ko-Fi.
